The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.

Roxie wanted to find a guy.
She'd flirt whenever one came nigh.
But often her Platonic game
Served to douse their lustful flame.
She wanted a man to be a romancer,
Write her poems in iambic stanzas!
To make an effort for to woo her,
More than just a casual cruiser.
She wasn't just an objet d'art,
She had to have a place in the heart.
Not just one on a conquest list,
But to conquer, and be his one-ist!
A couple of the clue words took a few seconds of looking at to unscramble, but the solution wasn't difficult. Truthfully, though, I thought it was not particularly clever, because the pun was awkward.
Interesting topic for the poem. Yay for Roxie.
Well, I had a curious experience with this Jumble. Got the first two words without any problem, but was stumped by the third and the fourth. But decided to check out the solution before coming to the blog, and got it instantly. That gave me the four missing letters, which helped me get the third word but not the fourth. So I needed Owen's poem after all. There it was, the fourth word--with the A and not the T as the last letter, which is why I had trouble getting it. But I have to say, I still liked this Jumble cartoon, with Van Gogh tossing darts and his pal with the beret enjoying his red wine. So glad our famous painter still had his ear in place.
Yep, Misty, the picture and subject made up for the awful pun.
I too had problems with #3. Should have been easy .
Owen amazes me again with these poems
