The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.
Comments are welcomed! And couching them in Poetry is definitely NOT required.
Do not explicitly reveal any of the actual answer words until after closing time, but embedding them surreptitiously in comment sentences is encouraged.

"Outcry That Ate Ed"
Ed, the blind elder, has a gripe:
"Lately, I'm wonderin' why
dese snotty brats stick noses in phones
an' pass duh traffic by.

"How do dey trust dem cars
not ta be runnin' 'em down?
M'ol' lab Honcho saves m'bones,
warnin' me dey's around.

"If I gotta choose
which danger t'avert,
I'll take m'chances wit' a junker,
but not no techie nerd!"

"Good News"

Our long time friend named Sancho
is a cool and friendly honcho.
He has a job as a welder,
and serves a youth group as an elder.
We have never heard him gripe,
he is such a forgiving type.
But we had noticed lately
that something has changed for him greatly.
After years of having waited,
Sancho has finally dated.
This we are happy to hear
and it fills us all with cheer,
especially since he has now mated,
and a whole new life created.

Those wedding bells chimed
in a poem well rhymed
by you, Misty Dear.
Thanks for Sancho's story,
ending in nuptial glory
and your usual good cheer.

But I missed your good sense
on my first reading. Hence,
I thought the meaning of "dated"
wasn't that your pal Sancho
had met someone, No!
but was superannuated!

Not that the guy was the marrying type,
but that he'd grown "overripe."

Imagine my chagrin--
with my wrong spin
and how I felt when I found my way:
much happier for Sancho & his fiancée.

Thank you for your very kind comments, Ol' Man Keith,.
But you must know, by now, that I never miss a chance to introduce romance.

Loved grumpy Ed's accent, by the way. Gripe, gripe, but in funny prose (and verse).

TCM is holding an Andy Hardy festival today, and I just watched the end of one.
Mickey Rooney was signing off with Andy's signature yell,
"Woo Hoo!!"

I just re-read your Sancho response, and your rhyming is fantastic.
You are an amazing poet,OMK!

Thanks, Misty ~
I think you can see how I misinterpreted your line "Sancho has finally dated...."

I find I experiment with changing form whenever I can't make the meter conform to 4 or 5 beats.
Format = Necessity.

Wow, between a long nap and a long drive I see I never got over here. For one thing I was solving Thurs xword with one of those odd twists
Hmm
Gives me an idea but no promises.

How far away are you two in socal?
Or as Misty suggested a zoom solve. SE was tough even after I grok'ed the gimmick

Yes, Misty does like her marital bliss endings. OMK could probably teach poetry.
