โ€œWith Apologies to Ed & Willโ€

Another Sunday rolls aroundโ€”a Day
of Rest, or Sabbathโ€”call it what you will!
For me itโ€™s time to embrace a pause, to lay
my pen aside, sans sense of guiltโ€”to chill.
I see Iโ€™m not the only one who abstains
from posting on Sundays. Others now solace find,
and sometimes Mistyโ€™s the only one who remains.
The lights stay on, but shouldnโ€™t all shun the grind?
I swear to the joy that comes with planned release
from daily chores, to find routine isnโ€™t rut.
I see at the end of each week the promise of peace,
and after Iโ€™m bent in composing, I rise with a strut.

Yet each must follow his, or her, own gut.
Weโ€™re cool! To rule freedom, is anything but.

Occasionally a moral decision
Creates a situation with tension.
Resisting the urge,
Education may serve.
Doing second thoughts may merit attention!

I started with my usual letters (but arranged as a cow), then moved to French food, and then made a wild guess, in the belief that it might just be correct.

Enjoy your day off OMK. You have been very prolific this week and deserve a rest.

Owen- today you give us the W in an acrostic, but with a slight twist (and good advice).

CEh! I hope you didn't get caught by the initial letter red herring, and saw that the letters are all in the proper order.

Whether the Weather

Many credos known to man,
(Hyphenated or not)
Include some future Eden.
A gospel writer (one of the twelve) sought
To stress being ready for the hour.
The days may be sunny or dour,
The skies donโ€™t equate with the faith,
That better things lie ahead of our dread.
โ€œOr whatโ€™s a heaven for?โ€

I give you a Sunday sermon to ponder today.

Owen- you caught me! I thought the twist was the acrostic (with one movement). But you cleverly hid the acrostic. Letโ€™s see if Misty and WC can find it.

"Popular Writer"

The writer was a popular fighter
who used hyphens that his words would equate,
sometimes twelve during an all-nighter
when he worked hourly until it was late.

His readers thought his work was heaven
and read it happily in all kinds of weather.
And they even planned a party,
in the hopes they could all get together.

Misty- we were given a disjointed group of J words today. (Even Owen hasnโ€™t come up with one of his creations yet.)
Your writer using hyphens was a good way to use that word. And his readers were not fair weather friends . . . And even hoping to get together. That indicates a loyal following.
Enjoy your day.

Love getting a long Sunday verse from you, Ol' Man Keith, but who are "Ed and Will"?
And then your delightful message to take it easy and chill out, except giving me that cool credit for always showing up on a Sunday! I am so flattered! Thanks, and have a great peaceful and cool day!

And then what could be better on a Sunday than a pseudo-religious weather verse! Complex and interesting as always, many thanks, CanadianEh!! Given that it's still unclear whether the weather will be rainy or sunny today, I'll do my best to be ready for the hour.

Given all the neat complications in today's verses, I'll hold off and give my decision second thoughts, Owen!

Wilbur, we need you too!
Come and give us your Sunday view.
