Six days of verses drains the oomph outta me;
routine turns to rut, and rut digs a furrow.
Dunno if I can salvage a full recovery,
but I’ll try to rest up—with my Sunday furlough.

Salutes to my Comrades-in-Jive,
who’ll keep our blog alive!

I’ll toast Misty
in whisky,
and Canadian Club
will CEh dub.

Wilbur

and let’s keep Spumante flowin’
for dear old Owen!

Ol' Man Keith, you are so kind
to cheer us on a Sunday,
and to thank you for your cheer,
I'd love to offer you a glass of beer.

"Family Feud"

It would create a bit of gossip
although she hadn't seen it
until her husband was bitten
by her newly bought kitten,
which did their relationship flip
and brought it to a zenith.

Over getting a pet they had fought,
yet still a kitten she bought
from a site she found online
which had made her smile and shine.

She was now sorry and tried to appease,
yet the cat hair made him sneeze.
But then slowly the kitten's scent
created a pleasant accent,
and he began to pet her fur
and she began to purr.
This made the conflict ease,
and the family is now at peace.

Ban Social Media?

A losing battle we fought,
Being online more than we ought.
The gossip was rampant,
We disparaged every accent.
Our souls grew hard-bitten,
We believed everything written.
At the zenith of our hatred,
We created posts x-rated.
There’s nothing to squeeze from a frozen heart.
Untie the mercy strings to start.

Well, Misty- we took the words we were given today to weave quite different moods. Sorry to be a Debbie-Downer, but my poem just went that way. Hopefully the mercy strings will be untied!
At first I thought your poem was going to have a sad ending also. But that kitten was able to overcome the husband’s initial reluctance and allergies. The purr must have been very soothing to make up for the initial biting.

Thanks OMK- we can all raise our varied glasses in a Sunday toast. Enjoy the day. Salut.

FLN- OMK re Wordle- my first guess was STARE (looking hard), second was TIGER (wild animal), third was OUTER (on the edges) before I reached the voting booth.

WC- I see that you also thought of Jinx with today’s W.
Re the Larks (is that Chet and Lois on their honeymoon?). What a lovely island greeting of happy faces. It is good to know that AA support and comradery is available worldwide.

Sorry, no poems from me today. Hay fever started yesterday, and I'm too muzzy-headed to compose any more than this.

CanadianEh!, I really liked your poem and think it's actually pretty good to have Sunday offerings with different moods. So I think we did a good job today! Cheers!

Owen, so sorry that you're not feeling well today. Take good care of yourself, and we'll look forward to your recovery.

How lucky we are to all share this blog! Hope Wilbur checks in tomorrow!

Have a nice Sunday evening, everybody!
