There are several other Jumble blogs, but the ones I checked all started off by listing the answers. In this blog, answers can be either hinted at or masked by burying them in comments. No overt spoilers!
Anglers were wading streams, hoping to score some catches. Hunters were setting up their blinds, wet with morning dew. Treasure hunters were out in force, searching for geo-caches. Campers and hikers, birders and bikers, emerging two-by-two!
Caleb was out there, driving his tractor through his field of maize. The planting was done, but these ears would hear yells As city folks thread their way through his corn as a maze, A stereo playing an accompanying tune of "Farmer in the Dell"!
That would come in the future, but for now the manure stench Of the food for the sprouting plants Caleb had planted Would help the grown stalks grow dense as a fence, And taller than people, so cheating was thus prevented!
The long day is done, anglers and hunters are going home. Folding their tents like nomads, zipping things up in backpacks. Zipping their coats and zipping along, tomorrow once more to roam. Zipped zippers looking like rows of zees, their namesakes, that's a fact!
Sorry, but this is confusing. Since my posts weren't pub'd yesterday I have been searching for the "Ginger Roots" page that began July 6. I just finished discovering a route to the July 14 edition of THAT page - and posted directions for others to follow. But now I see this entirely different page. Please advise: Which route are we to follow?
OK - let's stick with this page for now. Today's Jumble looked tougher than it was. The weird apostrophe at the end of the final answer caused some head-scratching. HINT: it turned out to be an incorrect usage of the apostrophe to indicate pluralization. But while it may not be correct, it alerted me NOT to expect a typical 2-letter word.
Sadly, not correctly, and still haven't had time to solve today's third and fourth Jumble with no chance to get the resolve with the curious _'_ at the end. Sigh. My worst Jumble week ever.
Okay! I finally got it! It's been a long day for me, fun and games playing Bunco with friends so finally I had a chance to look at this J. It took me a while to CATCH on but that's what SOME baseball players do then collapse and catch some zzzzzzzzzzzzzzs. I'm surprised because I though any sports answer would stump me.
OMK: I bookmark this site then click on the date to open it.

I needed hints for 1, and 2, but 3 just smelled right. I heard 4 after a hint. Once I solved the apostrophe, the rest of S came easily.

Until i got here I thought#3 was scetch(sic) . It didn't affect the letters to the riddle answer .
I try to solve Jumble before getting here, my fun is searching for the answers I already know that are hidden in Owen's verses .

Misty, did you solve yesterday's J?

Well, at least I was able to find his site. And tomorrow's paper will have the Jumble answer I never got.
