Words 1, 2, and 3 came easily. I used a hint on 4, and the sol came easily.

The plants held a council to decide by a vote
Which should have certain features of note.
Green Chili wanted heat, to make men sweat and yow!
That also was claimed by Habanero and Jalapeño!

The Monkshood wanted to wear distinctive habits.
The Carrot wished to be associated with rabbits.
The Redwood wanted to be the tallest of trees.
The Willow just wept, and shook in the breeze.

One by one, or in groups, they asked for their choices,
They ratified their requests with approval by voices.
A record was kept of every niche and which fit.
But Poison Ivy was a runner, and stole away with it!

My computer locked up, and when I restarted it, my completed jumble was gone. Your hints in the poem helped me rework it quickly. I never did trust that Poison Ivy.

Easy-peasy for me today. I saw the answer before I even started unscrambling the words. Some days they just pop out at you.
A horse called Wonder Godot won the Prince of Wales Stakes in the same way as the Jumble (as well as the Queen's Plate previously). This is 2/3 of the Canadian Triple Crown.

Omigoodness!!!! I did it! I have never done a Jumble but felt like a snoop lurking here to read Owens poems. So today I tried and TA DA! I got it.

Of course when I came here I found you all thought it was easy . Oh well. I’ll take what I can get! Thanks for introducing me to this fun. Owen, thanks!!!

Yes, I also ran away with it! The words jumped out at me, too though the last one took some serious deliberation. Thank you for the poem, Owen; great work!

Delightful poem, Owen--and if I hadn't gotten the Jumble solution, your last line would certainly have given it to me. Many thanks!

Fun Jumble this morning, and my only problem came with the last item, which took a little work. By then I had already played around with the answer, and once I got 4, it all fell into place. Very satisfying. Fun to chat with you all in the mornings.

DAMN that Poison Ivy! Never to be trusted.
I blame the electoral college for her win. It really does disenfranchise my CA vote.

Anyway, could these Jumbles get any easier?! At least with this one I had to do the 4 prelims before breezing through the final answer.
But it's already Wednesday.
C'mon! I'm ready for something hard.

3 of the 4 were easy but #4 came slowly. Without it I couldn't make out the riddle .

Finally I put all the letters together. Fortunately#1 yielded the three letter riddle word and the rest fell.

Btw, OMK. Remember my mentioning a NYT that had a fairy tale clue like LAT? (Came a court'n) . Anybody recall who in rhyme"came acourtin?

Well I finally finished and I perped in a 7 letter answer to NERD'S EPITHET For President . Even after getting the right answer I couldn't understand it until i got to the Rex Parker site . But you see it immediately Keith, I'm sure.

Yep, WC, got it! ~ although you have to say "for The President" to make it come out right.

"Froggie," right? ("...came a'court'n").

Yes .THE should have been there . When ANAGRAM perped in I had to accept it but was completely perplexed.

That was a two week effort, a box here a box there . A perfect example of P&P . No hope, then a glimmer, finally tidying up. I got 99.7%
