Jeffry roved all over the world.
In each county his bedroll he unfurled!
All he had he kept in his knapsack,
Which made it swift to pack and unpack.

Some places, he was welcomed with joy.
Other places would suspicions deploy.
But the worst reception he received
Was his return to where he was conceived!

His father called him a tramp and a bum.
Made it clear that his roving was done.
"Whether at a desk, or drawing water at a well,
Get a job!" -- Now he roams a padded cell!

Each word and the sol. came easily today. I found the hints in your excellent poem.

Well, I got the four answers without any problems, but the solution had me stumped for a bit until I realized I'd forgotten to put the K into the puzzle answer options. Then it all fell into place.

Very helpful poem, Owen.

I didn't have a long, drawn-out process on this one! Easy solve.
Your poem is spot on, Owen. Thank you. I didn't have time for yesterday's so maybe today I'll tackle it.

I generally just audit (lurk on) both the crossword blog and this one, and have no desure to create a profile. But I do appreciate the community feeling on both. I usually come to this blog after finishing the jumble, only rarely looking for hints. But I do like your jumble poems, Owen, with the clever ways you work a form of all the words in.

Monday easy. But I did not expect this final answer, thinking the artist wouldn't depict himself. I think this was one of the funniest we've had.

Sandyanon, welcome and thanks for the very kind words! Feel welcome any time!

Today's poem has a shout-out to Jeff Knurek, the artist who draws the cartoon each day. A shame he'll probably never see it. This blog would probably be a tonic for him as it is for me!

I'm grateful to the rest of you also for your kind words every day!

Just lurking as usual, but the poems were wonderful, Owen, as were the Corner verses. All A’s !!
