Today’s Jumble haiku:
(One of many facts compiled in
The Book of Knights Who Say…)

“…Nim Nim

The raven’s mommy
can handle bananas by
herself—all alone.

FLN, Misty ~
Thanks for complimenting my Sunday “Pardon-Me” poem!
And just to remind you why it is likely to be the one you may ALL anticipate…
It’s the ONLY one for which I needn’t be stuck behind the J-Words,
AND
I have all week to work on it!

Thanks again!!

It was not nice --

Megan was a raven-haired beauty,
Her age was just nineteen.
More schooling was her duty,
On campus, she was queen!

Mathematics was Megan's glory,
On statistics she was equally keen.
When boyfriend said average category,
She corrected that he meant the mean.

She was chaste as a pure number,
Vowed no mommy she'd ever be.
She couldn't handle a youngster,
Or feeding baby a banana puree.

Love in Any Language

Shall we ban Nana and Mommy
And other languages’ terms of endearment?
Ditto with Opa and Daddy
Or similar handles of foreign accent?
No, we would be raving mad
To be so mean and bad.
I mean let’s show some love!

Yes OMK we do enjoy your Sunday offerings. Today’s haiku evokes hilarious images. And you really changed the tite.

Owen- your W poem brilliantly hides the W in plain sight.
And your J poem, takes the colour meaning for the bird. Plus gives another “meaning” for the reveal words.

Let’s see what Misty creates.

"Beloved"

Mary's children loved their Mommy,
who handled everything kindly and calmly.

She gave them a haven
where they could raise a raven,
and they could feed him a banana
in her cabana.

Their home was clean,
she was never mean,
and so they treated her
like a queen.

Ah, Misty gives us an ode to the perfect Mother. One who lets her children have a pet raven . . . and even feed him a banana, in her cabana no less. I love it!
She deserves to be treated like a queen.

Misty's Mary is the matriarch of the perfect "transactional family." As long as she handles everything so calmly, and provides a kindly & clean "haven," suitable for the kids' aviary, they in turn treat her just "like a queen."
What could go wrong with this?

CanadianEh! ~ Your dittoed questions, rhetorical as they may be, beg the obvious answers -- No, never!
Let us not be so "mean and bad"!
9 times outta 10, we use nicknames to "show some love."
(The 10th time may be somewhat derogatory, but we'll let that slide...)

Clever little critter haiku this morning, Ol' Man Keith--funny and enjoyable. Also, nice of you to give us the interesting explanation about your Sunday offerings--so glad that it's pleasant and fun for you to produce them. And, finally, thanks for the kind response to my verse today.

Owen, nice to see how you worked all the J words into your second verse. Glad Megan wasn't on the Titanic, and good to learn she's only nineteen. She may not be ready for motherhood yet, but she's got a lot of time ahead for new relationships and new adventures.

So great to see you back in full form today, CanadianEh!, with a delightful verse and lots of nice comments. Yes, parents and grandparents have lots of possible nicknames, don't they? Since I grew up in Austria my mother was "Mutti," but my American step-father was "Daddy." Hope you have lots of time to spend with us this week.

We miss you, Wilbur--hope we'll see you soon.

Owen ~ Enjoyed both your pieces, but the Dit-Dah limerick was especially "kicky"--
hiding the W in plain sight while reminding us of the sinking of that grand hubristic liner!
