Today’s Jumble haiku:
(Refunds are routine when SFX designers need “a noise like thunder” but get a poor approximation.
Rob’s FX were sounding weak, so refunds were driving his upkeep too high, with each…)

Dunder Rebate

Upkeep has begun
to cost more through the decade.
The trend is too rich!

At Yule they go from door to door,
up spirits with their score!
Of heavenly light
Come in the night,
A hymn, a song, encore!

"Staying Open"

Opening the bakery had begun
to give the village a new trend,
serving people breakfast with a bun
and fresh pots of coffee blend.

The shop had been going for a decade
when its income began to fade
and trying to manage its upkeep
became difficult and steep.

So keeping it open was under debate
but closing it would be a difficult fate.
Customers still did its cakes highly rate.
This helped to keep the bakery open,
and it remains a village token.

Many thanks for your helpful hint this morning, Ol' Man Keith, which helped me to get today's Wordle on a single try. Makes me look forward to Christmas:

Misty~ Your village bakery gives a new meaning to "token," as it now seems to be a prize (!) rather than a mere skeletal gesture.

Glad again to help with Wordle. Today's W was EZ to rhyme.

My son and his bride will be visiting (from Arkansas) in a few minutes. Signing off for now...

Owen, I love your Christmas verse. This may be one of my favorite poems of yours--thank you so much for this gift!
