Reminds me of the time I was the greenest member of a lobstering crew while visiting a friend who worked a boat up in So. Bristol, Maine.
Some of those ol' critters was so ugly they could take first prize in a Creep election!

I got four J's but erred in transposing. I missed the C.

At age 17 I shucked lobsters in Boston for a company. One claw lobsters went into the big bin, were steamed and dumped into the shucking room.

I lost my taste for lobster for a long time

Was his affection an affectation?
Or was it really a deep sensation?
Did he use his faith as an excuse
When other defenses were no use?
In the depths of his immortal soul
Did he fondly give his love control?

Just woke up a while ago from ~15 hour nap. This is ridiculous!

Like the words for the Lockhorns on Saturday (piano, trill, accent, atonal, call), the clues today mostly gathered around the same subject as the cartoon. That actually makes my job harder, since part of it is to stretch the story out long enough that the seed words don't stand out. I guess that tells that the clues as well as the puzzle are selected by the guest.

Keith, whatever you've doing to post as anonymous the past couple weeks, please stop it.

The jumble clues were easy peasy, though the solution took a few moments. I didn't think it was particularly clever -- just an obvious descriptive phrase.

I like the short poem, Owen, but I also agree that the jumble words stand out pretty clearly.

Sorry, Owen but I don't see the harm. Is there a rule?
My iPad (which I use when in bed) seems to have shed its recognition of who I am. I have no idea why it refuses to know me. I just thought it better to write that way than not at all.
It's not a problem on my desktop. But since I always sign my posts, you know who I am.

No, no rule. But I keep a file of favorite comments, and it's just more convenient for me if I can copy the byline along with the comment. Not really a big deal at all.

If I can find a way to fix it, I will. Meanwhile, please feel free to revise the byline. Sorry that it may add a step, but I have no objection to your pasting over the "Anonymous" with this image & name.
