The same moon that appeared to wax bright in the eastern sky gave a most curious impression when it seemed to fade dim afar in the west.

Well, I just couldn't get that third Jumble word and figured I'd better check Owen's poem for help. But first I looked at the cartoon, and the solution popped right out--thank goodness, I do know Ringo's name. So then I had the missing three letters and with those I was able to solve the third word--luckily, since Owen's poem hasn't arrived yet (am looking forward to it). What a cute cartoon, though I wish it were a bit more colorful. The four guys also look a bit too identical to me. Anyway, fun Jumble, and Ol'Man Keith, your fun gloss confirmed that I got the right answer--many thanks.

Glad I could help, Misty.

Just checking back to see if a poem was posted. Not yet. I have mixed feelings--wanting Owen to take a well deserved rest but missing his verses.

I notice(re. FLN) that there isn't a crescendo of demand for Wilbur doggerel. I certainly can't do what Owen does but you two inspired me to wax poetic last night.

I was wondering, Misty, if you'd GROK that play on Ringo's name. I didn't get it at first forgetting that Ringo changed his original name for showbiz purposes.

And, I didn't loved #3 by getting the three letters. It was a toughie.

Speaking of toughies, I finally finished the CC.

Interesting coincidence. After listening to Sirius Beatles on the two hour drive Ocala-Sun City I turned on the TV. Oldies.

Yes, Ringo is featured and the blurb says "Ringo was the voice narrator if the 80s Thomas the Tank Engine.

Actually, I just read the book to Phillip as a baby. He knew it by heart.

I think I got it, Wilbur--STARR?--was that right for Ringo's name and the last word of the Jumble solution?

Richtig!
Du hast recht, Misty.
(I was tempted to misspell "afar" in my rhyme but reckoned its two "a"s were enough.)
