I wonder why today's jumble solution reminds me of Longfellow's poem of Paul Revere's ride, specifically the direction for placing lanterns in the steeple of the Old North Church?
You all know what I mean--"One if by land, two if should sea." Hmm. I wonder.... Do I have that wrong?

The Dryads led a sheltered life
Frolicking in woodlands rife.
Nymphs spent days a-dancing
To the tempo of the Pan-kins!
They would wobble to and fro
Repeating antics, heel and toe.
They were wed to trees, twas known,
But Kevin was a lonely Gnome.
Promised that who eloped with him
Could cease such pointless tedium.
He knew it would be a futile chore --
Dryads were already 'oaken for!
Thank you, Owen, for giving me the fourth Jumble word, which drove me crazy. Neat, complex poem, as always, a Friday gift! Even without getting the last word, I did get the Jumble solution without any problem. When you see "mahogany" twice but not what it is, you can guess the prime word in the solution. And then, happily, Ol'Man Keith's pun confirms it--thank you for that too. Cute cartoon, I like the fellow's shirt with some sort of symbol on it? But what is that machine in the background? Anyway, fun Friday Jumble all around--thanks, everybody.

Thank you, Misty: I'm glad to know my hint helped. I wasn't sure the awkward grammar would pass muster, but I consoled myself that the interloping wobble word, "should," stood in for the equally iffy word in the jumble's solution.
And I am glad to see you confirm one of my earliest laws (or rules) for solving solutions. If an oh-so-obvious word is missing from the cartoon and caption, then that word NEEDS to be in the solution.
BTW, that device in the stage right background (past Nick's right shoulder) is a type of cross-over saw. (A dangerous tool, one of which cut fingers off my young assistant in our scene shop.)
I can't tell what's on Nick's shirt.

Oh, I see, Misty was talking about the saw. And Owen about elvish magic in woodlands. "The Tempest" as a musical with nymphs and nymphets flying and floating about is being enacted at our Tampa Straz Center. What a directing challenge.

I had to write out the solution and then back in via the missing letters. I was left with D I T for the third word and finally grok'ed it.

I did the same for #1. Having three letters meant that it probably ended with the remaining vowel.

Okay, a mild case of erato and that (unfortunate?) encouragement has led to this. Confession: let's not blame poor erato- she did her best.
Bunky was known as an uptempo guy
Especially when he was sober
It was a mystery later as to why
He'd occasionally become a toper
After he'd say it was the tedium
That caused the wobble in his walk
Perhaps it was the 100 proof rum
And gibberish in his talk
"Get back to the meetings" we vainly sought
But alas, we knew it would be for nought

Misty -- I've just added a detail (from the ChiTrib site) at FULL resolution of the saw tool and T-shirt, though what the logo is I don't know. Googled TWEEDY and got a rock performer, but no logo for him.
