The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.
Comments are welcomed! And couching them in Poetry is definitely NOT required.
Do not explicitly reveal any of the actual answer words until after closing time, but embedding them surreptitiously in comment sentences is encouraged.

I can certainly empathize with the desired end, but fail when it comes to the means!
In any case, I really do appreciate this pun.
Ahhhh, Sunday—lovely Sunday…

"Happy Couple"
The couple did happily awaken
for a breakfast of eggs and bacon.
The sun shining through their window
brought a promising light and a glow.
They hoped nothing would impede
or baffle their upcoming deed,
to marry at the sound of a gavel
then hit the gravel and go and travel.
They did all their benefits weigh
of a hybrid romance in their day,
and on this new day, the best in their life,
they would at last become man and wife.
What a sweet poem, Misty.
A charming way to begin the day.
In addition to the theme of love, I appreciate most of all how it stays on track, with the final couplet completing the promise of the opening.
The details (eggs and bacon, sound of the gavel) add to the truth of the day.
Meter and rhyme are all well and good, but doesn't the real payoff come when we can see a completed arc like this? A single event, running from start to finish....
It looks simple & obvious, but too often overlooked, especially when J-words seem to distract, to pull off in tangents.
Brava, & hoorah for the "happy couple"!

Thank you for your very kind comments, Ol' Man Keith--very much appreciated, especially on a Sunday.
You may not produce a verse of your own on a Sunday, but your responses are themselves so poetic, that I value them as a different sort of artistic product from you. So, thank you for this weekend gift!
