When Bullwinkle went to Wasamata U.
He studied music for something to do.
He was a double threat
To the marching band set --
Instead of one horn, he had two!

Todayโs Jumble haiku:
(A new puppy is a source of sweet smiles & laughter.
It can actually ease the sadness of the loss of oneโs previous pet.)

My furry, curly
pup brings joy. Blowing gaskets*,
erasing sorrows.

* Losing control, not through anger, but hilarity.
Teddy was a cosplayer, a Furry.
At fantasy cons, his costume was curly.
He went, of course, as a "Teddy Bear".
But he was a loner, not part of a pair.
Not having a girlfriend was his sorrow.
Still he always hoped, "Tomorrow..."
Then, at a cosplay con he saw Isolde --
In a robe with scales and a blindfold!
She was costumed as Ms. Justice,
To Teddy's eyes her beauty was lustrous.
At her sight, his heart blew a gasket!
He was in love with her every facet!
He wooed her and Isolde liked what she saw.
Teddy pressed his suit in a courting of Law!

I was so Near at guess four, and I should have gone with my Canadian icon sooner. But I was a silly . . . .

I have to split my W post again - sigh.
I was so Near with guess four, and I should have known my Canadian mascot, but I was a silly . . .
I see that WC arrived one guess sooner.
WC- I saw Flaunt in that rerun also.
The voyagers encountered many obstacles, but a modern-day trip on the Trans Canada can have its perils too.
Portage Flaw
A trek across northern Ontario
Can be a little bit scario.
Vast views of rocks and trees-
Pine, spruce and fir- yeeks!
And if a car gasket should blow,
It might bring you great sorrow.
To pay a mechanic so burly,
The bill might make you go squirrelly.
Beware of a Canada Goose
And also the sign โMoose on the Looseโ!
Owen- great W poem today. I loved Wasamatta U!
If I had read your Bullwinkle name before I posted, I might have worked Rocky into my offering.
Re your J poem: I had to look up the meaning of cosplayer, and that made sense of the costume references. Good thing that blown heart gasket is only a metaphor! And a law wooing! Plus โpressed his suitโ - the Bear costume? LOL. Great work.
OMK- what a beautiful haiku. Your spin on the title led you to a joyful report on your new pet. I am glad that the sorrow of losing a pet can be lessened (probably never totally erased, but the happy memories overcome the sad) by the antics of a new pup.
(We were all blowing different gaskets today!)
"Dear Dog"
Don's sweet dog always woke up early,
with hair that was furry and curly.
Losing him would cause Don great sorrow,
and he would sue in a court of law,
if anything happened tomorrow
that would hurt the poor dog's paw.
But, of course, his dog stayed safe and healthy,
and, not having to sue, let Don stay wealthy.
Re. Dilbertโฆ My son and I have concluded that Adams deliberately torpedoed the strip. The offense was egregious, past the point of mere PC

Ps, how did "niggled" get by the bot censor?
What a sweet verse about one's love of puppies, OMK--made me smile.
Owen, what a fascinating "Teddy Bear" romance poem, with lovely rhymes in each stanza.
A real pleasure to enjoy.
Thank you for your note about C&L and Nora, Wilbur--much appreciated.
CE, your "Portage Flaw" poem made me laugh, with your rhyming "Ontario" with "scario."
Cracked me up.
Thank you all for all the neat offerings, and look forward to seeing more tomorrow.
Owen ~ Brilliant poems todayโand funny!
Thereโs no matching you, our true Maestro!
CEh! ~ Thank you for the trip thru N. Ontario.
The rocks, the trees,
And, no doubt, the breezeโ!
Plus the warning about what might go wrong.
Best of all, I enjoyed your rhymes! You have the ear and the humorous touch that rises above the ordinary.
Don may be lucky, Misty, to avoid legal action,
but his dog sure is luckier, having Donโs protection.
WC ~ FLN, Sorry to fall behind in acknowledging your latest C&L contribution! I did catch it (although late) and am very appreciative.
~ OMK
Why wouldn't niggled make it past censors? It's a perfectly good word, and no relation to the dreaded N-word.
