This poem is, I do not doubt, a
Conundrum to reveal. Without a
Hint to define
What answer would align,
It will be hard to celebrate, okay?
Susie C. was quite sedate,
Certainly not a fashion plate.
Often wrinkled and unpressed,
Relaxed clothing she liked best.
She paid top cash for quality,
Intended for eternity!
Bargain price was no excuse.
Her clothing all saw lots of use.
At formal doings, she'd appear
Dressed in retro fashion gear.
It was stuff that she'd bought new,
When it was the style to view!
She didn't care who thought her scruffy.
Susie C. was always comfy!

Emma had no excuse
and so did not refuse
to let her daughter appear
on stage in a lovely dress
whose glow made the audience cheer,
and left the critics impressed.
The play ended up a smash
and earned mother and daughter good cash.
Misty ~ I sense a theme developing within your poetic repertory.
You say Emma's "daughter" made a "glowing" entrance in a "lovely dress."
Could it have been designed by yesterday's "Wendy," she who is making her fortune creating new and fashionable gowns?
Whether you intended to place these ladies in back-to-back verses does not matter. Don't we do our most creative work at the subconscious level?
Anyway, I am glad to know today's dress contributed, at least in part, to the play's positive reception by audience and critics alike.

Ol Man Keith, I sure hope (now)Prince Archie and (now) Princess Lillibet won't end up being PRISS when they grow up. If so, should we excuse them?
And thank you for making the connection that I totally missed between Emma's daughter and Wendy. Given my own crappy wardrobe, I wonder why I'm so obsessed with what women wear? Maybe that's why I almost never leave my house anymore?

FLN, Misty ~ I'm sorry to be slow in responding to your question.
Our new little guy, the MinPin, is named "Buddy."
I wanted to call him "Bruno," to honor his German genes, but my wife wisely overruled me.
This is a sweet-tempered pal. He takes to everybody, most companionable, so Buddy is a perfect nom de guerre for him.
His little sister, the Yorkie who was born only recently and is destined to join us in another month-and-a-half, has been named "Penny." She is a small baby; her mom and pop are both small, even for Yorkies, so we had no disagreement at all on that name.
