Today’s Jumble haiku:
(When FBI field agents get shot up and wounded, to the point they can no longer chase down felons, they stand in defiance to everything those athletic hotshots represent and can be honorably retired.
It must hurt deep in their souls!
I am sure they dwell on it constantly, Oh, the…)

Marvin was in a confused state,
The agency's name didn't relate.
How was "Steganography"
Turned into "Ants Geography"?
For the answer, cryptographers await.

The posse set a time to head out and challenge the usurper in the town.

P(rearr)ange(d) Chase

The alpha male defied his foes,
And screamed his challenge from his porch.
No agency could his pride could scorch;
He tasted victory as he rose.

OMK- just look how the same words set our poems and titles today in similar yet opposite directions. What fun.

Owen gives us an anagram to hide the W.

"Replies with Pride"

Anne's agency defied
the rules, when it denied
that change in her pay
that was set to rise that day.

Anne felt she did alpha work,
and that her boss was being a jerk.
On her porch she did back and forth pace,
not sure how this problem to face.

In the end she wrote him a letter
explaining why she felt she deserved better.
Her boss read it and next day replied
he agreed, and a higher raise supplied.

If only all unfair pay issues could be resolved so well as Misty's Anne's was!
Here we saw a typical feminism agenda item--the mismatching of wages and the "alpha work" that Anne was turning in.
Instead of just pacing, Anne decided to do the sensible thing: She wrote her jerk boss a letter--and--Glory be! It worked!
The jerk was woke after all.

CEh! ~ Yep, both our titles keyed off of that second word. "Chase" was pretty much unavoidable. But your guy was not content to sit quietly on that porch. I think mine let his pride get scorched.
As for your Wordle, I was truly surprised to see so many wASTEd words!

I could sorta figure out Owen's choice of substitute icons today.

That was a pretty good Wordle recovery, Wilbur, after such a hard luck start.
Speaking of luck, I am finding the usual start words (those from the Bot plus my ADIEU) do tend to be pretty lucky.
I know you prefer to use a J-word, and that may give you an advantage as far as working your way through it--in struggling for fun!

Ol' Man Keith, your alpha man was a retired porch sitter? Why not? Sounds like a pretty good retirement, doesn't it?

CanadianEh!, your alpha man is a bit aggressive, isn't he? Hope he doesn't get caught in a chase.

Owen, your Melvin is such a stable and calm guy, let's just hope he doesn't have to participate in another assassination.

Wilbur, why don't you see if you can teach all these alpha men how to play a little Wordle? I bet that would do them a lot of good.
