He thought he could make good money with a freak show exhibiting odd and misshapen animals. But too many of the creatures were bored by the long hours and felt insulted by customers' stares. The final straw was the Horned Pup who quit when a little girl said, "Well, I don't think he's such a good boy."

A rabbit, White Rabbit, was warrented to be
The best hare-brained writer from sea to C!
So he took up his plume and began to scrawl
Something much better than a graffitti wall!

His mind was wound up with his ideas anew
To write about something no one ever knew.
But it was a novel that the world never saw
Before writers cramp caused a wound to his paw.

Still he warmed up toward the idea in his head.
Maybe, he thought, he should dictate it instead!
Cyborgian peasants, whose pitchforks were utile,
Luddites insisting ohm resistance was feudal!

This was the easiest Jumble in my memory. I read the cartoon and the solution came instantly and I wrote it in before even looking at any of the clues. Then all the clue words also popped in without a moment's hesitation and I was able to verify that they contained all the solution letters. Woohoo! A great way to start the weekend!

And then on to the fun of your poems, Owen, both here and on the crossword page. Many thanks for those. And Wilbur and Ol'Man Keith, your offerings are always extra fun.

My son and daughter-in-law and teenage grandson are coming for a visit today and tomorrow. Can't wait to see them.

Quite late today. Yes, the jumble was incredibly easy today, with the solution being obvious even without the clues. They were obvious too, once I looked at them.

What an interesting poem story, Owen. This despite my not quite understanding the last lines. Not sure why "feudal" was thought necessary; the other word makes more sense to me.

Sandy, my guess is Owen was hiding the word FUTILE. I see he incorporated at least one X word.

Yes, easy. I did it in my head very early but I guess I never posted.

Of course it was the luddites whose resistance was futile, they wanted to hang on to their feudal looms and other obsolete tools.

I drove a shuttle/limo from 03-18. In that time GPS replaced maps and street knowledge became obsolete. Fairly routine in America but in London livery was a profession.

Knowledge of the alleys and byways of the great City qualified a driver from apprentice to journeyman to Master. Uber acceptance didn't come easy if at all.

It didn't come seamlessly in Tampa where the police used cab drivers to arrest Uber drivers. The tbtimes sided with Uber. Naturally.

I thought the Luddites were against "Ohm resistance" in the sense that it stands for electrification, and Owen was also enjoying a play on "armed resistance."
No?
