She was used to sharing items, especially the side dishes to their entrees. But he showed himself to be overly possessive of his orders, insisting that everything was either mine or thine.
What a little turf turd, she thought!

Easy jumble. Clues no problem at all and with all the letters the solution popped right up. Kind of funny but probably all too true.

Smaug has figured out who's been helping Bilbo

"Enough my dinky, diminutive dwarvish boor
Bilbo you say? I rename you "Say-No-More"
I've been wined and dined by princes and by kings
I'm not wedded to this ditch. I have wings
And I'll use them in short order,
And raze the meddling boat-men's burg
Right up to Thranduil's* border.
And all will learn the name of the mighty dragon Smaug."

* Thranduil is the King of the Woodland Elves

Delightful Saturday Jumble. Got all four words with only a little work on the fourth one, and was pretty sure I had the funny solution. Thankfully, Ol'Man Keith's gloss supported it right away. And your mythical verses are very enjoyable, Wilbur. What a creep that guy in the cartoon is--complaining to that lovely lady about that nice red pinot noir and that tray of delicious snacks. At least she's letting him know that this is her last date with the jerk. Nice colors in the cartoon.

Wilbur I really enjoyed your poetic story continuation. I was looking for the fourth clue in it, though, and couldn't find it. A word in the second line almost fits, but not quite. Anyway, great story.

Sandy, you mean like someone who gets married or uses an alias? Or perhaps acquires a new "name"?

I assumed that was correct. When I grok'ed the riddle I didn't go back and check the letters.

Misty, OMK, Owen??? Aidez-nous s'il vous plait

There's an idea, write the next one in French

PS, it was the second word I questioned

Je ne parle pas français, Wilbur, du moins pas très bien.
But I can respond de manière anglaise, after a fashion, in the style of, or, shall we say, striking the attitude of that fourth word?
If I were to go with my kind of hinting, I would say this is a banner opportunity for a rather obvious rhyme!

Wilbur, how about,
"Bilbo, you say? Your manner befits you poor."

Wilbur Charles said...

Oh,my, there were to N's and one E. If anything a simple one to grok. Merci.
Ok, let's try re. Last line:

And the manner to be meted out by the mighty Smaug.

I thought RENAME looked suspicious.

Btw, next Bilbo flatters Smaug into revealing something . He makes his getaway but first "pinches" a bauble but Smaug knows every piece in the pile.

Let's see if the J cooperates.
