It is really hard to be a little person, don't cha know.
The work is so seasonal, and much of it in snow.
The elves in the toy shop work inside year-round.
Cargo-loaders for the sleigh, outside on frozen ground.

My contract with Claus didn't have a no-fault clause,
So recently I work for the guy with horns and claws.
Krampus doesn't pay well, but the kids he lets me thrash,
And of course I'm not to blame if a sleigh should crash.

Packages are messy, and they will shift in flight.
Especially when the pilot doesn't get the order right.
The footballs were supposed to be the first delivered,
Then all those doll houses wouldn't have been slivered.

By my count, there is a mis-match on the number of letters needed for the J6 solution. The solution calls for 14 letters. But neither the circled letters (16) nor the squared letters (20) match that number. I'll wait till I can access the LA Times Jumble to give it a shot.

Okay, the first J6 word uses the squared letters (3rd and last) in the solution. After that, they should all be the circled letters.

I'm sorry to impose upon friend Wilbur for my plight,
But sometimes depression means coarse actions must be right.
It forces me to forage for a way to keep my mind
Focused on my health, and leave other things behind.

And so I take a hiatus from my things of everyday.
Much as I love to do them, the Black Dog stands in the way.
There's no way to outrun him, but his stamina is poor.
I can at least outlast him if my spirits will endure!

Sunny days will come again, as sure as April's spring.
The Black Dog's growl will be defused, and bluebirds sing.
I live on hope as credit for the future, when depressed,
With friendships as the cash, when my moods are pressed.

Thanks for the proofreading, Keith. Correction has been made (and sloppily on purpose so late-comers will see what you're talking about.) The fault was entirely mine.

The J6 cartoon today was particularly lame and cryptic. I assume Jeff was just using it to send a personal message to a friend, and not really anything for the rest of us. The only part that really made sense were the buttons on the ATM.

Well, after the delight of one of the easiest Sunday crossword puzzles in my memory, the second Jumble was pretty much a bear for me. I had trouble with the second and fifth words, and although I got the second and third solution words had trouble with the first. Not my favorite Jumble, therefore, but I loved your poem, Owen, and enjoyed Ol'Man Keith's gloss--so that made it all worthwhile.

I thought I had six J's but having TRUANT fit #5 made the solution which I grok'ed not fit.

I had to search Owen's poem for the correct word.

What a great placement of the J6 and your feelings. For sure, you've come resoundingly back with great poems including those sterling lick's at CC

Isn't it sad if not amazing that people get those payday loans and cash advances with the prohibitive costs .

Too bad they can't simply kite checks and dash to the banks to cover like the good old days . Of course, one mistimed deposit and fees and fines will dwarf * those Advance charges.

I've decided a vacation is certainly good for me, so Wilbur, you've got the helm for as long as you want, and at least a couple more days.

Have a good vacation and take good care of yourself, Owen. But we sure will miss you, and especially miss your delightful poems both on the crossword blog and here on the Jumble blog. So please come back soon, Owen.
