Today’s Jumble haiku:
(Many, if not most, people never think to ice their kettles between boilings.
Michelin star chefs know it is difficult to achieve proper flavor or sweetness for tea [or instant coffee] with kettles that never get cooler than room temperature.
Until one is ready to really chill a kettle, of course, it helps to keep its bottom warm with a burning candle…)
“Sith a Wick (Keeps it Warm)”
Chill the tea kettle
‘fore each sweet inning, if you
want it truly fresh.

Today’s word contrasts with sweetness.
It does Billy Ray Cyrus wrong—
all day long.
It can’t convey the neatness
of heart in his “Achy, Breaky” song,
especially at a sing-along!
It rhymes all right, but is reptilian & sly.
As an adjective, it’s far from “slaky”
& is worse than “shaky.”
It means “serpent-like”—trying to slide things by!
If a guy can’t be trusted & is more evil than “flaky,”
we might call him “….. .”

He tried to be sneaky, but too much.
He lost the right to be snarky soon enough.
In the end, he asked "Why?
Should I end it with a why?"
But he went on to discover why mazes were so tough.

Orijinz:
Lucy made a lotion that would keep the sun from burning.
She might be a witch, but she liked men's heads a-turning!
But a gnat fell in her potion,
She didn't see its tiny motion.
At the beach she buzzed from her insect wings a-churning!
"Recovery"
The game was in its last inning,
and Will's team had no chance of winning.
He went home and put on a kettle,
needing some tea for his spirits to settle.
And after he did his teacup fill
he no longer felt disappointment's chill.
Getting over a loss is never quick
but Will did with positivity stick.
Being home with his family was just sweet
and tonight he would make his kids a treat.
WOW, Misty, I love your word "positivity"!
It helps to offset the weirdness of a baseball player who drinks tea.
Of all of America's athletes, the most jock-culture conforming are probably baseballers. Their beverages include coffee & coke; and when they win a big game champagne or beer!
(Maybe shots of straight whiskey if they lose that one.)
But nowhere do I see them drinking tea!! (At least not for public acknowledgment.)
Ah, well. 'Tis only poetry, fiction at best...
Owen ~ Your W piece gets my salute for its sheer cleverisms!
As for Orijinz, I am glad to see so many players. Having tried it a few times (not quite grasping it), I found their speeds super-human; i.e., impossible to challenge!
CanadianEh! ~ Good job, winding your way to a rattling good finish!

I suspect those speed solvers either it with a different identity first, or find a website with the solution, so all they are demonstrating is how fast they can type.
OMK, thank you for the very kind remarks about my verse. I tried my best to use your delightful verse to get today's Wordle, and I came up with "quaky" to rhyme with blank. Well the "__aky" was apparently right, but not the first two letters. But just wanted you to know I gave it a try.
Owen, what a neat verse about Lucy and her potion. But she wasn't really a witch, was she? And I hope she works up some sun-tan lotion that'll work for her.
CanadianEh!, missed your verse today, but look forward to seeing one from you tomorrow!
Have a good night, everybody.
