With the loss of dear Wilbur, we’re keenly aware
of our need for feedback to each verse and haiku.
Let’s not fail to post. We know we should share
& rarely play hooky, whether by me—or if you
should default. Isn’t it fair to expect care
for the gifts, the efforts, we post on view?
But—WOW!—in my autocratical way,

Strut (that) Sense
I’m not a pundit;
But it seems absurd
To let a bandit
Keep going forward,
With words bright and breezy,
Escape punishment so easily,
For stealing an iconic letter.
It’s absurd - we should do better.
Pease porridge hot, pease pudding cold
Split pea soup is a British trove.
Dave to England took a trip,

Two days in a row I got it on the second guess! And today it was a calculated guess, plus picking something from the crossword!

Gary was an eager go-getter,
whose career became better and better.
He wrote tales that were ironic
but so funny, they became iconic.
His language was sleek and breezy,
yet as a pundit his jokes were not easy.
Journalists found his humor absurd
and this further criticism stirred.
But Gary's sentence structure was great
and this easily ended the critical debate.

I spent some time just sitting quietly in my back yard this afternoon, and saw the orange and black monarch butterflies fitting around and stopping on orange flowers here and there to have a snack. It made me so happy.
OMK- I hope you enjoyed your Sabbath rest. Yes, we do like to give and receive feedback and comments, but sometimes life gets in the way. I had a lovely afternoon in the park with the Toronto All-Star Big Band. And I may be AWOL tomorrow, as we are going to Niagara Falls.
Owen- I smiled to see that you turned the W into porridge, and then made a movement out of it. What would John and Yoko say?!
Misty- I’m glad my hint gave you the W. And you had a lovely afternoon too with those monarchs. I have seen them occasionally on my zinnias.

Your Gary sounds like an ambitious fellow with his ironic, iconic tales, sleek, breezy language, and jokes that were not easy. It seems that those journalist critics would not take the effort to figure out his jokes, and instead criticized him. Hurrah for good sentence structure, the foundation of any good writing.
