|| || fever, obese, sailor, moment, from "see" to "see".
The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.

I will be a sailor, a sailor I will be.
I shall sail the world, the seven seas I'll see!
I will not get scurvy, I'll not get mal-de-mer,
I will dance the hornpipe, obese I shall not fare!
The sea is dreadful cold and stormy,
It's swallowed many men, it may swallow me.
So I'll live in the moment, while the wind is fair.
I'll greet each port as home, as if I came from there!
If some day with gray age and palsy,
The ocean and my shipmates have no need of me,
On land I'll rest my weary bones near the briny air.
I'll let sea fever wrap me as a mariner in its care.
Better him than me. I like looking at the sea, but not so much being on the sea. You do present a (for the most part) appealing alternative picture, Owen.
The jumble wasn't difficult, though I did have to lay out the letters for the third clue. But the solution presented itself almost immediately. Huge bus tours don't seem like an attractive way to go, however.
I liked your melancholy poem this morning, Owen, and it helped me get the third word, which puzzled me a little. But I had trouble getting the solution because I was sure one of the quoted words would have an "a" in it, but none of the Jumble words this morning had an "a." Finally looked it up, and felt a little silly that I didn't get it. Not my best day this week, though I had a great Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, getting all the crosswords, sudokus, kenkens and Jumbles. So I guess it was time for some setbacks. Hey, that's what the end of the week is like, isn't it? Anyway, have a good day, everybody.
Ditto what Sandy said . Good poem Owen.
I knocked this off but then had the CW to tackle. And the CC to read. By that time I was into other things

Late again! I had an appointment to get my hair cut then went to buy some flowers. Now that the rain has stopped and our temperatures returned to normal, I'm sprucing up my patio.
Owen:
Your poem sounds like a sailor's ballad, one of those shanties they sing at sea.
All went well with the J today, from descrambling to final solve. Yea! I've been on many bus tours in various countries and I loved it. It's a great way to navigate through the mazes of some cities and they provide an English speaking guide who informs us of interesting facts and factoids about the sights around us.
I was unable to move the letters to the squares so I used "hint" to fill them in.
