"Nietzsche Umkehren"
He feels a vague weakening, perhaps the first sign
of the illness he fears one day must sicken him.
He'd been warned by doctors he has a kind
of inborn disease, a bloom of genetic venom.
If it be axiomatic that "What doth not kill thee maketh thee stronger,"
he reckoneth not to be around much longer...

"Poncho"
I once had a friend named Poncho,
who was a real talented honcho.
He could play an encore
on his favorite guitar.
He once worked on a barge
for a generous charge.
He never once did forget
to feed his very cute pet.
He could cook breakfast toasty
and his suppers were roasty.
When he gambled the lottery
a loss was an oddity.
Had no bias, was not a hoarder,
just a chap of the highest order.
Excellent poem, Misty!
And I suggest we leave it right there--
having knocked off the two Js between the two of us.

... though you did a job that ranks with the best,
& it will be nice to at least hear from the rest.

I'm here, sort of.
I thought of you, Sandy,
when I saw the tennis players in J4. But I expect your favored athletes deserve a more polished treatment than that amateurish cartoon.
That drawing seems kinda flat in its line,
the players all elbows and paunch,
I'm sure your champs are rather more fine,
less spacious of haunch (& in spirit more staunch).
