The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.

Wow! I'd love to nitpick this solution, because it seems like it must be violating some rule or other, but I can't -- it's so ingenious!
Anyway, the only tough clue for me was the fourth one. Took some head scratching, but I got it.
Missed you yesterday, Sandy--you & Wilbur too.
You might want to check in: we had a good visit from Owen, along with contributions from Misty & myself.

My mind is awash with words unique
Replacing bland idioms with ones that pique.
Instead of earphones to listen to audio,
Let's turn the spigot and let earworms flow!
If we are getting long in the tooth,
Let's let our orthodontist deliver the truth.
Do our dentures fit to a T, or a U?
Are they old but good, still able to chew?
FLN, Again, I started a post but didn't submit. I finally hit publish.
Then after posting on CC I noticed I hadn't solved the J. So I did and realized it was Friday's. So I just solved the clever Thursday.
Sandy, I think we had #4 fairly recently. I was tempted for both riddles to wait for clues but I got them.
Owen you get straight W's for J and CC poems. You are the Ali of comebackers
Me. I wouldn't cross the street with free tickets to go to a concert. I took a girl to see Willy Nelson in Boston and she remarked "This is wonderful, if only I was here with …(instead of you)"

"Homage to the Solution"
Goldie had two statuettes, to honor her family's god.
One was chipped above his nose, which made him look quite odd.
She took better care of the other one, the way she knew she shoulda;
Her family loved to venerate Goldie's Better Buddha.

Trouble logging in again. My second try.
Whew! What a relief that I can log in again. Good morning, everybody!
No Jumble rhyme this morning. I could only come up with words to echo the first one--land, hand, sand. But what ends with 'io'? And is 'soothy' a word? And then that final tough '-igot.' Couldn't come up with anything, not even a bold-y, so failed my du-ty.
Misty ~ You probably know this, but blanked (as we all do).
It's worth remembering, you can make up words (tawdry-o), use multiple words to rhyme just syllables (road show/do-si-do), or go for near rhymes (rodeo).
And, in deference to your particular style, you needn't rhyme the clue word exactly.
You could talk of the audio version
You heard on an excursion...
(Unless you think that too compromising).

Hi, Wilbur!
What does a "W" mean in your grading system? We used it for "Withdrew," meaning the person dropped out without a grade. But you must have meant it more positively, right?
Maybe Wow, or Woohoo?

You're absolutely right, Ol'Man Keith. Having trouble getting on the Jumble for the last two days has fogged up my brain, a little, I'm afraid. I'll try to do better tomorrow.
"Listen to the Moo-sic!"
Goldie had an audio spigot
that poured out tunes (can you dig it?).
The faucet on the right
just served bland delight...
Ah! but the spout on the left was the ticket.
That's whence the chewier stuff poured,
and the toothier politics soared.
Other folk at their sinks
were quiet as the Sphinx,
while Goldie heard
their oxen herds
Gored.

Take a break, Misty. Sorry you had trouble signing on again today.
I wonder what the trouble could be. I can't figure these tech overlords out. Google still won't let me sign on using my regular avatar (the one with the red "Fowler owl" picture) on my iPad. It lets me do it on my desktop and laptop, but for some unknown reason blocks me on my iPad.
As they say in New York: Go figure.

I enjoy poetry from others, even though I almost never attempt it myself. Too bad more people don't actively comment; I hope they don't think that poetry is a requirement.
BTW, OMK, I always check the blog, but sometimes just don't feel up to commenting.
If only there were some way to take roll...
Spigot, dig it--brilliant, OMK, brilliant!
