Note:. This covers Friday as well as Saturday jumbles

Locksley now prepared to fix the ransoms of the pair.
Aymer the Abbott, bejeweled and costly attired
Isaac of York, with his vaults of gold acquired
From usury. Loans begged but at payment time: "It's not fair!"

The yeoman leader deemed the ratio as fifty-fifty
"This is lunacy", cried Aymer. "He'll sock it to me", said the Jew.
"My gold I've gained by being thrifty"
"Steal from the Church?, Damnation to you."
Both tried their best to fudge about their wealth.
"Fascinating", thought Locksley. "Gold's more valuable than their health".
Isaac's heart was churning at the news of his daughter's abduction
"Hang back", the outlaw leader said, under the birch,
Away from the prying eyes of the prelate of the church."
[Said Isaac]
"You've jogged my memory, you are Bend-A-Bow.
[Said Locksley]
"I'll grant remission."

"You helped me once. I'll up the share of the proud, Abbott Aymer,
Whose napkins in the Vestry are worth a peon's wages for a year".

Thanks, W.C.!
See Friday for my Friday's.
Saturday's below.

"Nor Taxis, these Explosive Trolls"
-or-
"Bang Hacks!"
My last three cars were Jaguars,
elegant beasts that churned in their wake
admiring passels of passers-by
who rose up like birches & eyed agape.

White as linen napkins & black as the night,
big boys, my dreamy beauties, shiny and bright.

Wilbur ~
Hmm.
"Jogged" = your jungle cat clue?

Heh, heh. Followed up with "you are". I almost put "jagged". Sightings of jags whether four footed or four wheelers were rare in 1200 AD.

The fun starts tomorrow when the Friar and the Abbott go at it in Latin: The former in Latin gibberish.

OIC.
I like the idea of following with "you are."
The trick must be to get those two backed up, to abut the "jog" root directly.
I dunno. Hmmm.
...
Maybe something like "Ah, now my memory you may jog. You are etc... &c."
I do get a kick outta spreading a clue over 2 or 3 words!

No word from Misty so far.
Nor on the Corner today.
I hope she is all right. I wonder if she is having access trouble with the internet again.

Well I warned her that today's CC wouldn't be easy. Then again with certain specialized knowledge and imagination perhaps not.

And a very brief appearance from Sandy.

I just thought of it. Lucina had a comment about ET TU(Brute). And a possible deletion of a post for referencing "conscience" with White Rose.

Brutus was a Republican Senator, Julius a Democrat. Talk about political fodder.

So, Wilbur, I'm trying to keep up with your Ivanhoe tale. Never read the book, you know.

And so much going on politically. And now the World Series. I stopped being an avid baseball fan years ago, but can't help being a bit interested in this year's Series.
