The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.
Comments are welcomed! And couching them in Poetry is definitely NOT required.
Do not explicitly reveal any of the actual answer words until after closing time, but embedding them surreptitiously in comment sentences is encouraged.

So the pinni had a smooch. Sweet, with the fish heart and all. But not very private; that birds' eye view is practically on top of them!

Daisy was the absolute best,
There were several who would attest.
But here she was, on a rainy doorstep,
Mewing with all her kitten pep.

Ron opened the door to the tiny cat,
She strode in with damped éclat.
Ron smiled at this relief from his desk,
As a Commissar, weighing life and death.

He found a bowl, and milk in the kitchen,
And set it down for this jet-black kitten.
She lapped, but mostly sloshed it there.
Ron went back to his desk and swivel chair.

Daisy followed, and jumped up into his lap.
He laughed, and cuddled this forward cat.
"Well it looks like I've got you, little Miss!"
He held her to face, to seal it with a kiss...

Claws out, slashed jugulars, right and left.
Best shape-shifting assassin, one more could attest!

FLN, Misty ~ Yes, our choir managed to give Sam & Molly a tuneful send-off after all, especially when we all agreed to shift to a cooler location—and to gather at the river, the beautiful, beautiful river….

It looks like our kittens, Owen, share a name but very little else.
Mine takes less time to reveal her nature…

(She) “Wheeleth in Bliss!”

Daisy was a kitten with a sweet little swivel;
she loved to jump in puddles, to slosh about & frivol!

Keith, don't think I've ever seen frivol as a verb before. 😜 It does rhyme very well, tho!

Nightmare morning. No Los Angeles Times Newspaper in the drive-way. What to do. Found it on line, but the giant page images would not reduce so I could not read the paper. So, no paper, in effect, this morning. Found the Jumble on line, but have not yet figured out how to rhyme the words. Aaaarggh. Not my best morning. Will try again, and hopefully come back with a verse. If not, hope you'll pardon my absence.

Of course we’ll pardon you, Misty, if necessary.
Nobody has earned latitude any more than you, for goodness’ sake!

I have had the same problem when my Times failed to arrive. (Your deliverer may be hung over, celebrating too much Super Bowlishness!) Once you find it on the official LA Times site, you can click directly on the Jumble for an option to “Print,” and that will let you print out just the entire piece.
But I gather that isn’t your problem now; it’s just the rhyming. Remember that you needn’t rhyme the J-words directly. Go easy on yourself, and bury them within your lines.
You already have a pardon, so be easy…

"Forgiveness"

Daisy's morning did swivel
because of some silly drivel.
She was petting her little kitten
when she was accidentally bitten.
This was not the result of a spat
so she quickly forgave her cat.
She went on to slosh through her day
but her kitty wanted to play,
and since her sweet pet she did miss,
she healed everything with a kiss.

Excellent, Misty, especially how you rolled both Daisy's kitty soution & the Jumble "solution" into one final phrase. And rhyming two J-words while embedding two seems a fair proportion.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I am in the same boat with you this a.m. I just double-checked our driveway, but still no paper! I think I guessed correctly--about the fallout from the Rams Super Bowl victory yesterday.
What bothers me most is the choices the circulation department propose--either to get a paper hand-delivered late or to have them deduct the cost of a single paper from the monthly subscription.
As if either response matches the inconvenience...

How surprising that both of our LA paper deliveries are out this morning! Thanks for letting me know. Sadly, that makes it even more unlikely that we'll still get our paper later on today. And what would a Super Bowl victory have to do with people not getting their newspapers delivered? Makes no sense to me, but maybe you can explain.

Anyway, the morning newspaper show is over. It's on to doing exercises, feeding the birds and the turtle, putting on more coffee, and then paying bills that are on the verge of becoming overdue. Not the most fun way to start the week, but it is what it is.

Hope you have a fun day Ol' Man Keith. Loved your Daisy verse, although I don't believe it. Have never met a cat in my life that loved sloshing around in puddles. Well, unless it was a rainy day, I guess.

Wow! Owen, a love poem beautifully celebrating the love between a man and his cat. I was so afraid that the verse might end in disaster--oh dear, I just read the last two lines which I hadn't seen before. I guess it did?

Chet and Lois went for a walk though the sky was a bit hazy
The skies opened up, they sloshed around like crazy
Chet thought Lois was like a wet kitten but cute as a daisy

For when she swiveled those hips Chet was in a state of bliss
He couldn't wait to get her home, confess his love
And seal it with a kiss.

The Chet and Lois relationship just becomes more intense and romantic and loving every day.
How beautiful, Wilbur--thank you.

Sandyanon said...

Wilbur, AA seems only secondary for Chet now; he's so focused on Lois. That's probably fine, as their similar histories and shared AA experience and commitment will doubtless tend to keep them both abstaining. I think theirs is a great story.

Chet & Lois are the perfect pair for Valentine’s Day.
It feels like everything so far was the preamble to their Valentine kiss.

Nobody in Uni Hills got papers delivered today. My “theory” is supported by our neighbors. The Super Bowl victory is the cause for mass celebration among the guys who handle early morning services of all kinds. They presume upon our good will & understanding, as they sleep in after all-night carousing.
