Maggie’s operation was a success! They performed a laminectomy & relieved the pressure on her spine.
They will keep her for observation & to help her re-gain full use of her legs. She should come home in a couple of days.

“Stan? He Tripped!”
The vendor lacked poise, exiting the hatch.
Stan fell & sprained his big toe.
His trays spilled out, and an entire batch
of pastries flew, making quite a sweet show.

Victor was a poised vendor
who shipped goods to a generous lender.
The catch came when the lender's cost did sprain
his income and delete any gain.
But Victor said, "It's okay, let it be.
Your next shipment will be totally free.
So glad that Maggie's surgery went well and that she'll be home, walking again, in a few days, Ol' Man Keith.
I learned of a group discussing James Joyce's 'Dubliners' stories, and was told I was welcome to check in with them, since I edited the edition of 'Dubliners' they were all using. They met at 9 AM this morning and I had to check in with the coordinator at 8:45, so couldn't get to the Jumble until the class was over at 11. Thanks for your patience.
Anyway, poor Stan--hope he gets helped with his sprained toe.

Sandy ~ Word from the vet is that Maggie is doing very well. She isn't interested in trying her legs yet, but her appetite is fine, and her vitals are perfecto!
Regarding your opening post today, you were NOT too tired. If anyone shows fatigue, their initials are H&K.
Sure the main word has multiple meanings, but they only use one of them. This "solution" is not a play on words.

I guess Maggie is just resting until she decides to try her legs. Really happy that she's responding well. Bet she'll be glad to get home, though.

Misty, I had cATCH for the second word , said C keeping the all important H from the riddle-solution. Plus, in transcribing I missed the last letter A which messed me up.
But this time I figured it out on my own.
Over at CC I mentioned that OUIJA took me to Bill Wilson which took me to psychedelics and addiction treatment.
I think I'll keep it simple with some basic principles and fellowship. 30 years clean and sober is de rigueur in the mtgs I go to.
Looks like Chet is turning into a friendly & helpful mentor. Let’s hope Dave is in a good place for receiving advice.
If Chet hasn’t yet had the experience of “teaching” another, he’ll soon be discovering the great lesson all new mentors absorb—that they are much wiser giving life lessons to others than to themselves!

Wilbur, I'm very glad to see how Chet is moving along. I'm sure that Dave will benefit from Chet's ideas, especially since Chet is not that far ahead of him on the path to sobriety, so they can develop a real sense of friends progressing together.
