The politician's promises may be ephemeral, Avoiding the specific, employing the general. Supporting the planks that his party promotes, Saying what he needs to, to garner in the votes!
Promising a clinical perusal of proposals, Voting for the good ones, the rest to disposal. Ditching useless ordinances as they expire, Building on the good ones, to better aspire!
Urging that the people all help him to win, He'll clean up corruption, if everyone pitches in! The sad thing is, when they ran at their start. Most believed it sincerely, deep in their heart.
Well, I got all four items, and was happy to see them confirmed in your always delightful poem, Owen. But I'm stuck finding the solution with that seven letter middle word. Oh wait, I just saw something in your poem that might help. Will get back to you if it works.
Yes, Misty, I also got the clues without a problem, but I was doing it in my head, no writing anything down. So I went to Owen's poem for the solution too, but funnily enough, what I really needed it for was the first word. Go figure!
I thought the poem today was masterful, and all too true. Especially the last part, unfortunately. I think some people keep some of their ideals -- some of the time.
Got all but the 3rd word w/o writing anything; had to try quite a few combinations to get that one. Got the solution after a lot of pondering - what was it they all actually did? And there aren't all that many 2 & 3 letter words available.
