There are several other Jumble blogs, but the ones I checked all started off by listing the answers. In this blog, answers can be either hinted at or masked by burying them in comments. No overt spoilers!

|| || witty, fetch, slowly, hammer, waste of time.
The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.
Comments are the lifeblood of a blog!
Read the comments, and reply to them if you are so moved!
Monica was into crafts, recycling was her passion. From plastic bags, she'd made a dress in the modern fashion. She would fetch things from trash bins to make her projects. Then carefully she'd fuse them, remade into witty objects!
Once she made a leather belt by linking defunct watchbands. But that was just a waist of time, made for a ticked-off fan. Some things she'd slowly make with glue, other ones a hammer. Monica was good with tools, and enjoyed a turn as whamer!
A billion tons a year of trash is poured into our landfills! Monica had a recycling goal of cutting down those hills. Often she got frantic, she knew she had no time to waste. She had to save the world from a most inglorious fate!
Delightful poem, Owen--very sweet and nice to see all the theme words everywhere. I quickly worked my way through the four items and the solution popped right up. Only I was missing an F. Went back and found I got gotten the second word wrong, and had to redo it to include the F. Voila! It worked and I now had the whole Jumble, solution and all. Thought it was a pretty good use of my time this morning.
Fun use of time today! Clever pun and brilliant poem, Owen! It took only a few seconds to unscramble the words and I instantly saw the solve. Great start to the week. Now I have more time to continue packing for my upcoming trip to a wedding.
I'm changing the rules. Starting tomorrow, I'm moving closing time up to noon Eastern time, 3pm Pacific time. I'll post the solutions after that time, and you are welcome to use the words in any way you wish.
What I'd like to see is calendar reform. Make all months 30 days, and make the remaining 5 days and leap day an intercalendric holiday season. Pre-Julian calendars, when March was the start of the year, February was the last month, so a good place to put leap day.
Time zones. When it's noon on the East coast, it's already 3 pm on the Pacific coast. Did I get the order wrong? I do get confused about it sometimes. I think you're right, it should be noon PST is 3 pm EST.

2nd stanza, 2nd line is a brilliant response, Owen!

I couldn't recall if I'd seen that joke in the Jumble or elsewhere, so added a second punchline just in case.

I started #2 with a T too. But I ran through pretty quick .
"Ticked off" double the phun.
Anybody ever think of metric time . Keep the second, 100 = metric minute . 36 minutes to an hour . Ten seconds could equal a "moment".
Endless possibilities

That line seems to be the tock of the town today.
I agree Owen . I can always find the solutions in the poetry although you hide them well .
Today did seem easier than most but supposedly Monday is easy.
Btw . Did you mean 3 pm est, noon PST?
