|Smiley face| _again, muddy, rebuke, motion, yammering.
Image(s) from the Internet.

The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.
Comments are welcomed! And couching them in Poetry is definitely NOT required.
Do not explicitly reveal any of the actual answer words until after closing time, but embedding them surreptitiously in comment sentences is encouraged.

”In a Dirt Cloud with
a Yammering Motion…”

Again, “Pig-Pen”’s the
Peanuts toon who serves all as
a muddy rebuke.

"Manageable Marriage"

Her husband found Jenny's yammering
not in the least enamoring.
He said, "So what if your shoes are muddy?
Just wear the slippers in your study."
She treated her husband's rebuke
as if it were a fluke,
and followed with the motion
of soothing her foot with lotion.
When this happened again and again,
she decided she didn't like men.
Still, her husband was kind and cuddly,
and in the end a pretty good buddy.

Some choice rhymes from our Misty today.
Starting off well with “yammering/enamoring” and ending with a classic near-rhyme in “cuddly/buddy.”
In between we cover a lot of ground, going from Jenny’s verbosity and her filthy shoes, through her husband’s nagging, to her foot-pampering, and on to her incipient lesbianism (tempered by her tolerance for sweet company).
Whew!
And that was just for this morning…

It is a shame that more people don't post here. They should realize from my posts that you don't have to be funny or cute and definitely not poetic!

I wondered why the cartoon had to be about sweet potatoes; russets are probably at least as talkative.

Sandy, I consider you funny and cute though I've never seen you.

And you certainly have good taste in poets.

Yes, as Misty observes: when all the yammering is over there's nothing like some good cuddling

Always love your responses to my verse, OMK. I was a little startled by your reference to Jenny's 'incipient lesbianism,' but re-reading my sentence I suppose it does imply that. But your reading of the verse is thoughtful and a pleasure, and thanks again.

Your own haiku once again amazed me by incorporating all the Jumble words. But I'd love a little explanation about a "pig-pen' in a Peanuts cartoon? Am having trouble remembering that, and so can't figure out how it might serve as a rebuke.

I liked your comment, Sandy. And thank you for checking in with us today, Wilbur.

Sandy ~ They chose sweet potatoes because they are often--some might say "usually"--mistaken for yams.
They are definitely not the same, but many folk refuse to learn.

Misty ~ You inquired about this character. In his innocence, he doesn't wash. Most of the others avoid him, but he remains natural and unaffected...

Pig-Pen is a muddy child, strutting in his own dirt cloud.
Every motion sprays out dust; you don't go near unless you must.
The "Peanuts" treat him as a kook; only Charlie won't rebuke.
Few to Pig-Pen condescend; again, young Brown's his only friend.

Oh, yes, OMK, thanks. I missed that conection, probably because I never eat sweet potatoes OR yams.

Terrific response, OMK: not just an explanation of sorts, but in a fascinating verse where the rhymes occur inside each line rather than at the ends of the lines. What an experimental poet you are! I learn things from you constantly!
