There are several other Jumble blogs, but the ones I checked all started off by listing the answers. In this blog, answers can be either hinted at or masked by burying them in comments. No overt spoilers!
The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.
Comments are the lifeblood of a blog!

Milly had found a macaw, walking to and fro! An open window gave it access to come and go. No doubt the day-time bird went outside to feed, Then came in at night to a familiar roost to sleep.
Hector, filled with caution, crept in at a leery pace. Until he saw that Milly was laughing at his face! He was bitterly embarrassed, till Milly told him then Of the bird with its perch, and a mirror at its end.
The bird began to talk to its reflected twin, "Who are you? Who are you?" (its repertoire was thin.) The attractive bird had been in a movie trailer. And it totally explained the ghost detector's failure!
Coincidences seem to abound between the Jumble and the Crossword. Only a few days ago, I found MACAW in a Xwd anagram (MACAW'S TOWER)--a bird that's fairly rare in these word games. I am not usually a conspiracy buff, but ... Owen, you keep the mystery alive in the clever way you introduce the feathered critter in your delightful poem!
I started on the J last night as I lay abed. I found half the solution--and then fell asleep. The other half had to wait till the sun broke over my balcony and pried my eyelids open. Happy Monday, everybody! Today we're off to find our Christmas tree! OMK
Loved your Milly and Hector poem, Owen! Wonderful the way you work all the Jumble items into it. I had trouble with the first one this morning and even after I got it, I wasn't sure it was right. And I worried that those long words were going to make the cartoon solution problematic. But they popped up so obviously right away that it was a delight to fill them in, happily proving that the first bird answer was right after all. Very fun Monday Jumble!
Today was debacle Monday, and I don't know why I went so wrong. Confidently wrote in the wrong word for the second clue and then even with the correct third clue, accidentally pulled some wrong letters. Since I knew what one of the 7-letter words in the solution must be, that left me with an actual "jumble" for the other one. Finally went to your poem for help, Owen, and found it, which led me back to the clues and finally "unjumbling" them correctly. Wow!
I love the way the macaw disturbs Hector and especially the way Millie has become leader of this team of two. However, look as I might, I couldn't find the other 7-letter solution word in your poem. Is this another symptom of my day's debacle???
Probably not. I try to confuse the words by adding suffixes and changing tense and such. Today it was a prefix I added to one of the words, which seemed to change it a lot!

I detected that word, but didn't think it was similar enough to count. Oh well! I won't let that detract from my enjoyment of your poems.
My sloppy handwriting did me in. With all the R's I missed the extra T needed for the other word. Plus the obvious word was in the wrong order.
The two fives were trickier than the two sixes.

No luck on yesterday's 6*6. I got four and no idea on the riddle. I'll take a look

Those two fives did not help the Steelers one damn bit!
