Ho, ho, ho! ~ A very Merry Christmas to Owen & the gang, to Misty & Sandy & Wilbur!
May your sugar plum fancies be realized in whatever form best suits your own 12 Days.

The solution?
Little Beaver went to buy a Christmas tree & discovered the lot was run by his ol' pal, Red Ryder. When he picked out his tree, he was asked whether he'd take it with him or have it delivered.
"I'll have the tree sent, Red," he said. "Feliz Navidad!"

Yes, Merry Christmas, Owen, and thank you for your amazing poetic contributions to us, and your company. You are a gift to us.

And this Jumble was a real Christmas gift this morning. What a total delight. I got all four words without a bit of trouble, and the solution popped up instantly and made me smile and laugh, it was so obvious. And I loved your punning on it, Ol'Man Keith. I couldn't wait to see a color version of the delightful cartoon, and it is wonderful--all those figures with different colors and styles of hair and different colored clothes. And those lovely presents in the background. This may be my favorite Jumble of the year in every way. What a great Christmas present!

And my warmest holiday wishes to all you dear Jumble friends, Owen, Ol'Man Keith, Sandy, Wilbur, and any others who check in occasionally. Have a lovely day.

I had 15 minutes to complete the jumble and the xword. But... I also had to read the Bridge column. Must keep to routine .

Fortunately, as Misty said, it was very easy although I hesitated on the two 5's.

Merry Christmas to Owen,OMK, Sandy and Misty and all who visit our little room

My apologies for being so late. With the holiday, I assumed (correctly) that visitors today would be sparse, so procrastinated much longer than normal in composing a poem. But when I did, what came up was so appalling I decided not to post it. Yet another candidate for my worst effort ever. But now, after several hours sleep, nothing better presents itself. So after adding a couple concluding lines, here it is. mercifully, almost no one will see it this late on the holiday.

It was a rainy day when sunny Felix came to town
On the verge of celebrity, but hadn't nailed it down.
There, in dressy clothes, he strode upon the stage.
Sat down at the piano, and on the bagpipes played!

The music he presented sounded strange on pipes.
A lullaby by Brahms would make any baby yipe!
The audience, appalled, booed and jeered their rage!
Thus Felix, in disgrace, tiptoed from the stage.

Not appalling at all -- a very vivid picture, in fact. Sitting at a piano playing bagpipes! Felix must have been a contortionist.

Well, I checked back in, Owen, so I saw it. And--as you might have suspected--I found its saving graces. Rhythmically, it's compact & neat, so that scores well with me right away.
More importantly, it speaks to the courage of the performer.
Not only is Felix a supple figure--as Sandy noted--but the guy is willing to try something new, something "experimental," and therefore dangerous. That he felt he failed (and the audience concurred) is something we actors have experienced as well. Intimately.
Even verbal artists--poets, say, who publish online--must know what Felix knows. And here it is, displayed for all to see.
That is poetry. At least one form.
