Belle, the cute lil' flapper, gave Eugene plenty of encouragement.
He kissed each of the fingers on her left hand and was about to start on her right.

OMK, ol' Bilbo's not quite home yet but it seems epic quests will be in the past if he has any say
As the days of May waned, Bilbo hankered for home,
Vowing never to venture from his hobbit hole nor roam.
No longer a lowly burgher he was doing very well
Thinking "I'll be more cynical about racing pell-mell
Out the door chasing adventures led by wizards
And dwarves that would be kings. It's homeward
To stay. I can hardly wait to behold the gravel
Leading to my front door. No more talk about travel."

I looked at the Jumble cartoon and thought oh-oh--business is not my specialty and this is going to be tough. Woohoo! All four words filled right in without a moment's hesitation, and the solution came as soon as I realized the first word would end in ING. Very funny, and very clever--a real treat.
Then looked forward to Ol'Man Keith's gloss play, and found it so funny, it got no boo-ing yell from me.
Then came that erudite (consummation/truncation) commentary on Wilbur's poem, followed by the delightful Bilbo looking forward to going home and resting a spell after all these adventures. It'll be nice to see him coo-ing in his dell, if that's what he gets to do.
I had the four J's and 9 letters. I finally got the second word and yes ING popped out.
Yep, almost there. But Bilbo has a surprise waiting for him at home.
