Let me tell you of my Uncle Ned's latest opus
(He's the battiest inventor since God made the platypus!).
He wants to become an assessor on Yelp.
He thinks of the dozens of people he'll help!
He complains of the phony hedges in Great Britain
That are stuck to the ground, can't roll like a kitten.
They even spell it wrong, like a Pommy idiot!
How can it be a pivot hedge that won't pivot?
He wants to review the wedding chapel of Picard
It's for folks in the trenches, where dating is hard.
They come to his enterprise, and he orders, "Engage!"
Couples aren't even allowed to question the sage!
He told Ned, he's their only chance of getting loving.
Otherwise, they'll seem to see better, then nothing!

Todayโs haiku:
โTrench Betting Raises the Oddsโ
Batty bettors may
pivot to dis-engage their
betsโโin the trenches.โ
~ OMK
Iโll try to post today and see what happens.
Vowel-rich today.

I literally forgot rules And repeated #s 2,3. Very strange. Good thing I solved CCXW last night
Owen, you did a good job hiding the J's, I thought I was going batty

"Career Pivots"
Patty was funny and chatty,
if at times a little bit batty.
She often performed on stage
which did her fans engage.
But her career did hit a trench
what caused her reputation to quench.
So she worked hard, this brave go-getter,
and now her fame has once again gotten better.
Woohoo! Got the Wordle on my second try, thanks to Ol' Man Keith's helpful hint:

Many thanks, OMK.
Glad again to help with Wordle, Misty! One clue I saw among my sources, but too easy I thought, was: โThe first 3 letters form the name of a heavyweight champion.โ
Your poem does a good job with the J-words, and Pattyโs career recovery is a testament to good old hard work & bravery.

Owen ~ I enjoy Uncle Ned & his stubborn mis-readings of everything from horticulture to Picardian vessels & commands.

And hereโs to you, CEh! & WC, in hintlessly yet successfully pursuing the Wordle!
Congrats on snaring todayโs elusive boojums!

Funny poem this morning, very enjoyable--thanks, Owen.
And Ol' Man Keith, I can never believe how you work all four Jumble words and the solution into your compact haiku. Terrific!
Looking forward to verses from you too, CanadianEh!, and Wilbur.
Bet He Wonโt Stay
It was driving him batty!
This was so alien to him.
His new workplace was so entrenched
In their old routine.
They could not pivot
Or engage their new customers.
It was not getting better.
You did it, CanadianEh!--you worked all four Jumble words and solution into your delightful poem, while still giving it a different theme about an unhappy worker. Very clever and enjoyable, and the lack of rhyming words made it even better, I think. Thanks for sharing this, I really enjoyed reading it.
Well done, CanadianEh!
I expect he will either revolutionize his new workplace,
or be on the way out.
But with all the hiring going on in our fresh economy,
he should have no trouble finding something else.
Or signing up for unemploymentโฆ
~ OMK
Thanks Misty and OMK.
Yes, when I try to rhyme, it seems forced. Instead I use the story form.
OMK- I figured he would head for greener pastures. But maybe he can effect a change.
No mess on this

[Aunt Nora saw Chet storming out"]
"Lois, has Chet gone a little batty? Is the engagement still intact?"
"Nothing fear Nora my dear, the tryst we plighted is still a fact
Yes, Chet was entrenched in the mindset of 'Keep it simple and sweet'
His Sponsor Neal will pivot him around, Admittedly no mean feat"
It was getting late when Chet returned. Charles called out: "Go get her"
And Lois ran to him with a hug. Howya doin m'love?"
"Never better"
WC
Wonderful verse, Wilbur. I love the Chet and Lois story, and this is a lovely episode with all of today's Jumble words and solution worked into it. Great job and a wonderful ending to our Jumble blog day!
And thanks too for a neat Wordle!
WC- Love the Chet & Lois saga.
