Today’s Jumble haiku:
(Nutty milks!
Too many pathways to milk these days. Cashew milk and pecan milk and… )
“Moot Dairy Routes”
Frozen walnuts douse
my spirits once they’re stomped and
liquified. “Boo… Moo!”
I like that rhythm. Trochees.

"Busy Week"
Donald had to douse his house
the day he discovered that mouse.
The experience made him stomp
and on a frozen walnut chomp.
Determined, he put his mental boots down
and set off to learn of his roots in town.
Fln, too good not to repost

When Chet stomped out of aunt Nora's Lois was frozen with fear
She got on the phone to Laurel* whose first words were
"My dear,
How often have I drummed into that walnut of yours that prayer
Is the answer. You've got two knees, now use them." All became clear
To Lois as if doused by a pail of frozen water. She couldn't wait
To see Chet at the meeting and shout "Let's elope! Right away, today!"
And there stood darling Chet waiting at the door. And on his head?
A green beret!
Both saw the gleam in the others eye and knew they'd been in cahoots
With their sponsors. 'All the better' was the thought. The next: "Big wedding then
'Plant some roots'"

Okay, here's all about Laurel, a very wise sponsor

Buckle down
----------
[Lois continues her tale about finally coming to AA]
As I entered the halls I was met by smiling faces and a warm hello
A lovely lady beckoned me over , "Come sweetheart, tell me your tale of woe"
She sat me down on a soft, pillowed seat: "We'll show you a better way"
Any way was better than mine, a life of hopelessness and decay.
"With the help of a Higher Power and prayer you can upend your life
Just buckle down, follow the suggestions and end that bitter strife"

Tenth,Pixel,Bestow,Trophy;
Bee worth it
------------
[Lois continues]
Her name was Laurel and at once I felt hope bestowed to me
One suggestion I followed was: "When praying, get down on your knees."
I was pixelated on one hand but still had those lingering doubts
"When I finally get to the tenth step will it be worth it or will I strike out?
Spoke Laurel, "They'll be no trophies, only this promise I make,
If fearless and thorough a new life is yours. Added bonus: A cake"

cough, gecko, expand, aviary; "reeking" havoc
-----------
[Lois continues]
Laurel advised me to get honest right from the get-go
At the same time "'Don't be in a big rush , take it slow'
Eventually you'll expand your
horizons but you'll need bravery"
"As long", I said, there's no religion. I don't carry a breviary"
[Laurel goes on]
"When you share your story at first it may be tough
Try to keep it short at first. If you go on too long, I'll cough".
All in all compared to my past life this will be a walk in the park
Between the alcohol and the drugs all I did with my life was wreak havoc

Sounds as though you dislike frozen walnuts as much as Donald does, Ol' Man Keith.
Wilbur, so it sounds as though Lois got some help from her sponsor to get back in shape again, and that this may have helped her to get to the point where she and Chet can get ready for their wedding? Very hopeful, so far.
Not so much the walnuts, Misty, as the "milk" they're purported to produce...

Reflecting on Laurel's comments on prayer, WC:
Her insistence that Lois use her knees strikes me as hard-earned wisdom.
But in considering the general application of that advice, I would take it a step further. Assuming Lois is one for whom prayer was non-existent OR that she was used to praying while sitting (or standing?),
YES, I am all for getting her down on her knees!
But if she is a person who regularly prayed on her knees, it is more likely time for her to get UP OFF THE FLOOR, and pray like a thinking or meditative grownup person.
In other words, whatever you have been used to doing, now's the time to shake it up and try the OTHER posture.

Carbon Offsetting
Plant that walnut tree
Long before the ground is frozen;
Stomp around the root base
Douse with water.
No squirrels allowed
Until you put down your shovel.
Misty has a most excellent poem at the CC today using that ingenious method of incorporating X Words.
BTW, Was Chet and Lois an inspiration? Both had their ESCAPE ROOM ie. Drugs and Alcohol
Also, another story to follow

Busy day, but I made it here.
Glad to see that everyone is in fine form - including Chet and Lois.
Misty- Donald dousing the house because of a mouse, reminded me of someone who burned the house down to get rid of the termites.
OMK- LOL Moot Dairy Routes!
(And I loved your diagonal at the CW Corner)
In my formative recovery period 74-85 I attended a lot of meetings, shared a lot and met one well known* individual(Bob P). He was a piano player that my mother had raved about.
Well...
I was sitting at a meeting
hal listening when I heard the words "What changed my life was hearing Bill say "If you want to get better get down on your KNEES and ask for help. That changed my life".
'I said that???' I was flabbergasted. I have bad knees and in church even the padded kneeled hurt.
But somehow the words Bob needed to hear came out of my mouth.
A call that the Balaam's Ass phenomenon

CEh! ~ Enjoyed your horticultural treat--a practical poem for those into nut trees.
As for myself, I prefer the squirrels.
We have two regular visitors here, a mom and her son. My mother-in-law keeps them in peanuts, sometimes in cashews! (No walnuts so far.)

Misty ~ Love those "mental boots" of yours.
Have a hunch they can be fierce!
