No word here from Owen In quite a while.
I hope it is only for lack of access to the internet while in hospital or rehab.
Fingers crossed.
Lighter note: FLN, Late messages to Wilbur & CEh!

Today’s Jumble haiku:
(The compรจre “drives” his show,
navigating it firmly.
But he cribs or swipes his manners & fake charm
from other, more genuine hosts.
Yes, he is known to…)
“Steal Steering”*
In act, our emcee
oozes “charisma,” a strong
radius of schlock.

____________
* A subtle Spoonerism?
And...
I've combined Friday and Saturday so your welcome to guess the latter J's and riddle-solution
"We've so much to plan together, Chet from the emcee
At the reception to the …
[Chet interrupts] "Easy does it my precious, sweet pea
The race goes not to the fleet though we must stay strong
The radius of activities we'll enact as they come along
Let me steer your attention to another big day on the horizon
Soon there will be sleigh bells ringing and tons of Christmas fun
When we awaken that morning I hope to see something better
Than your present last year, that red and green fleece sweater:
"I get the message my wise and wonderful guy
'Don't try to force it and surely good things will come bye and bye'"
WC
I gather most folks solve before coming here but reversing the process eg guessing J's would be interesting

One of these times I’ll guess the correct letters sooner - perchance!
After yesterday’s nostalgia, I give you some Saturday silliness. You may have to work to find all six W and J references.
I Need a Strong Coffee
I had a dream;
But instead of MLK,
It was MC Hammer
On the radio.
He was in action,
Dancing and rapping
About the steer
Jumping over the moon.
OMK- yes, I always go back and read any late posts both here and at the Corner.
The words we were given today were difficult to combine. I see you used one of the same adaptations as I did.
That title can be a Spoonerism for the Jumble solution, plus I saw another animal. Subtle Spoonerism for sure.
WC- Another great story re Chet and Lois. And you worked a little of my winter wonderland nostalgia into the second verse. And don’t we all have an ugly Christmas Sweater?!
I think your Wordle third guess was the same as my “wonderful” second guess.? Then I began to “fear” that I would never solve it.
Misty- I enjoyed your Emcee poem today. Kudos for Earl. I wonder if they were Dad jokes that he cracked. And I loved your ending “he happily did game us”.
OMK will be pleased with your ABAB rhyme scheme, and rhyming couplet at the end. Plus a rhyme in the title! God job.
You might want to try Wordle today. WC left a hint last night,; I left a hint @7:53, plus it is included in my offering today. It would not be far-fetched to think that you could figure it out.
I’m sure you saw my notes already last night, WC.
I’ll just add that I got a kick out of the homophone(s) in your last line.
Misty ~ I like it!
ABABCDCDEE works for me, as I hope it does for you. “Enact/cracked” is fun, as is “famous/game us.”
In the end, your emcee seems like mine—getting away with a game face. How we all love inauthenticity!
Yep, these words were a tricky lot, CEh!
Your method had me hopping. Leaving untouched strong and steer aside, the others were like decoding Enigma!
OK, MC Hammer was a sly gimme, and of course, I recognize “in action.”
But “radio./He was” is either genius or a messy run-on—or both.
Thanks for catching the subtlety of my Spooner. Sometimes a radical flip makes no diff at all.

I didn’t mean to do this today, but when I woke up & saw WC’s hint last night, I thought I’d check it against my usual starter…

Well, I should have gotten this one much more quickly, with all the helpful hints I was given, but ended up in the usual way:

Misty- I “fear” that you joined WC and I on your third guess.
We three tied today, while OMK’s usual first guess plus WC’s hint gave him the advantage.
(Whoops- OMK got your rhyme scheme correct of course. I forgot to list the CDCD.)
OMK- LOL re the decoding challenge. MC was deliberate, but I cannot take credit for that “radio. He was”. It was a total accident. When I was checking that I had included all the words, I noted that I had left out that one. Then I noted that I had a close match already. The messy run-on was pure serendipity.
Loved all your wonderful poems and wordles and comments today, and know I can't do them justice but just want you to know how much I appreciated them.
, your haiku was even funnier than usual this morning, with "fake charm"(a term I've never heard although it makes so much sense) and "schlock" (my native German is still pretty good but have forgotten the meaning of that word, though I can guess it).
Wilbur, loved the way your romantic conversation started to get a little edge here and there, the way conversations with couples often do.
CanadianEh!", hope that brave deer survives its amazing jump over the moon.
Great fun all around--thank you, everybody.
Congratulations, Misty, as any W success deserves respect! Please leave a hint with each victory. It has become a hallmark of our cooperative group.
Counting the pageviews (bottom, left), there are many visitors who don't post, but who read our scribbles--including our hints. One of these days, I'll be coming up behind you, and I'm sure your clues will be as important as the others.
Thanks for your kind words re. today's haiku. I am finding that the occasional awkwardness of my phrasing is slowly decreasing. I like how the form is teaching me to become more succinct.
It is a good discipline.

Misty, Just curious...
Was your next-to-last one BREAD or TREAD?
Probably not WREAD
(although that is used by some English Lit profs).
~ OMK
Thank you for the kind message, OMK, and sorry your name was somehow deleted in my last message as I sent it. And yes, my next-to-last one was BREAD.
FYI my penultimate guess was FREAK. Wordle got freaky last month. MUMMY was out there but I'm sure they meant the shroud not she who tucks children in at night
An interesting wordle statistic would be letter usage
I think they are trying to stay away from E as everyone is starting with A,E ntso ADIEU
