There was a jazzy feel to the lounge,
As if it felt it was too good for the town.
The tenant at the piano played bluesy,
Soft enough that conversations were cozy.
Her drink in a champagne flute looked buzzy
His soothing talk was warm and fuzzy.
They danced, to enjoy the night to the full,
Lest tomorrow and ever after were dull.
They danced to make the evening go slow.
He helped with her coat, when time to go.
As he shrugged on his jacket, a light kiss
Touched his lips, to seal the enchanted bliss.
Really lovely word picture you painted, Owen. And I do so admire the ingenious way you worked the solution into this poem. You're always clever, but this time seems exceptional.
The jumble clues came easily, and once I had the probable first words of the solution, the last was obvious.
Delightful poem, Owen. I saw all the Jumble words but didn't see the clever reference to the solution until Sandyanon referred to it. Nicely done. I breezed through this Jumble, getting all four words easily, and the solution right after putting in the first two words. Nice way to start a Jumble week. I loved the cartoon, with the guy in the back wearing a Chef's hat, and the waiter wearing a bow tie and a pony tail. Seems they even serve red and maybe white wine with dinner. Love those pictures. Have a good Monday, everybody.
Owen, I look forward to see your ingenuity at work and am always duly impressed!
Interestingly, my newspaper had a different picture for the J. It was four characters around a table commenting and a fifth one at the buffet line.
The fourth word seemed fitting for a sea cruise and the final solve made me chuckle. All smooth and easy today.
Yes, I was confused when I read Misty's description of the cartoon, so I checked some other Jumble sites, and they all had the picture as Misty and Lucina described it. Strange.
