The air was nippy on the mountain trail,
It nipped at the nose until the skin got frail.
Ahead was the goal, the grand Ice Palace,
Its glassy walls like a great frozen chalice!
Raised by the magic of the exiled queen,
Ice crystals projecting an enchanted sheen!
A hermitage built with no grubby expense,
The treasury held no token, penny, nor cent!
The rooms were lavish, but cold, so cold.
Blankets of snow served as bed clothes.
Dinners were vichyssoise, sorbets and ices
No steaming pastas, hot toddies with spices.
Sorry I've been absent lately. I usually manage to look in, even if I haven't time to post.
Yesterday's J reminded me of the one marathon I ran, ages ago, in Richmond VA. Ah, if only my legs could still carry me like that! Today's dish is more my current speed. I started to think of a hint I might leave, but it looks like the illustration is providing more than enough of a giveaway.

As a native of SoCal, I've read of ice hotels, but never experienced them, thank goodness. Your evocative poem, Owen, makes this ice palace seem even brrrrrse!
As OMK said, this jumble was truly easy. The clues came fast, and the cartoon was a giveway. Nice to see you here, OMK.
But I'll repeat what I said fln; does the jumble have a new artist? The drawing is so unlike the usual ones, so simple, so right-on obvious. Plus there's no signature. I do wonder.
Well, I had a bit of trouble with the fourth clue word in today's Jumble and didn't get it until Owen's poem. But I still got the cute solution, and I too really liked the picture--especially the red wine that couple is having with their noodles. Very sweet.
Ok, Misty, clearly you don't do the Jumble from this site, which has a simple picture of two penne pasta. I just don't get it. Why are there two versions of the cartoon and where does the one on this site come from?
Gosh, Misty, I hope that didn't sound as though I were picking you. I just meant that I can see there are two different cartoons and Owen gets his from somewhere other than the newspaper version.
