The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.
Comments are welcomed! And couching them in Poetry is definitely NOT required.
Do not explicitly reveal any of the actual answer words until after closing time, but embedding them surreptitiously in comment sentences is encouraged.

Strange how the clue words split the solution letters.
The first two words offer the four letters for the first word and the latter two words give us the four for the second.
Neat-O.

"Retro Vision"
He had a great collection of vinyl.
He joked it weighed "half a ton."
He wouldn't hear objections. "That's final!"
he'd argue to all & everyone.
"Jacket notes are reason enough.
They hold real notes--neither fluff nor puff."
His agenda was set against tape,
and he really couldn't stand CDs.
He wasn't old fashioned he claimed,
but disks were the "friggin bee's knees."

It's not deja vu, the meme is trending.
Bernie and his Vermont style of blending!
Viewed in his jacket, not vinyl but canvas,
No doubt lined with wool like his mitten is!
Sitting alone, waiting his time to weigh in.
He has his agenda to pressure on Biden.
But meanwhile his meme is traveling like a trucker.
He's been seen at Creation and the Last Supper!
At the Constitution signing, with Forrest Gump,
Crossing the Delaware (minding the sump pump?)
On top of Mount Everest, in bed with Yoko,
Meeting at Yalta, adrift in hot cocoa!
Wrecked with Aeneas on the shore of Queen Dido,
or pushing a pole in a hole 'top o' Iwo?

"Pete's Feat"
Planning his wedding to May,
Pete had many issues to weigh.
He would have to order a jacket,
and put presents in a packet.
Her ring surely couldn't be vinyl--
no, silver or gold would be final.
The ceremony would need an agenda,
one both formal yet also tender.
The altar would settle his crew
and offer guests a sweet view.
His work took a great deal of labor
that earned both families' favor.
And so finally their vows were read,
And Pete and May are now happily wed.
Whoops!
In my first post (above), I stated the solution words in reverse. The first two clue words furnish the letters for the second word of the answer, not the first.
And vice verse for the letters of the second pair of clue words.
But I'm sure you figured that out.
Misty ~ A sweet wedding poem from you today. I particularly appreciated the efficiency packed into the agenda, assuring it would be "both formal yet also tend[ah]"!
From your list of items, I imagine little Peetie learned his lesson as a pre-teen when he tried slipping some innocent sweetie a vinyl ring! Those don't go over so well past the age of five-and-a-half.
As for May, well... the wives of wedding planners usually have some input to offer.
Glad everything worked out for the happy couple.
Whoops #2!!
PLEASE change "disks" in the last line of my poem (@ 3:56 am) to "LPs"--to avoid any confusion with (ugh) CDs.

Enjoyed your poem, Ol' Man Keith, even though I know almost nothing about LPs or CDs. I must have listened to music in my day, because I often wake up with a song or a melody in my head and have no idea where it came from. Ah, the past, the past.
Owen, I'm intrigued by your poem, which I assume alludes to Bernie Sanders, with some interesting points to make. But "in bed with Yoko"? Surely not?
Misty ~
I think Owen was playfully inserting Bernie into all sorts of improbable old-time settings--rather like Woody Allen's Zelig.
Maybe because of his age?
In that regard, Bernie is (and maybe all of us old coots are) injectable into the most unlikely historic places.
Anyway, it's what inspired me to go beyond Yoko's arms and suggest him shipwrecked with Aeneas and/or helping to plant the flag on Mt. Suribachi .

I'm pretty sure I've seen over a hundred Bernie Sander's inauguration memes, and that I've seen only a fraction of them. Ones I've actually see were the Last Supper, Constitution signing, Forrest Gump (many versions),crossing the Delaware, on a mountain top (don't know if it was Everest), Yalta, Creation (IIRC). Ones I made up (but I'm sure are out there) Yoko and cocoa.
I just googled, and yes, found Yoko, and many cups with Bernie's photo on them.
By coincidence, my wife just pointed out to me the Bernie pic you're talking about. I watched the inauguration but was not aware of the many Zelig-ish appropriations of Bernie's image that inspired you.
I see now that he could hardly be helping with the flag raising. My bad.
Poor Bern looks like a captive, as if he really didn't want to be on that platform, so they tied and gagged him!
