The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.
Comments are welcomed! And couching them in Poetry is definitely NOT required.
Do not explicitly reveal any of the actual answer words until after closing time, but embedding them surreptitiously in comment sentences is encouraged.

"Estimated Success Rate?"
'Tis an oft-cited adage, I know,
that "Smoking does not let you grow."
It has a tinge of the truth
merely applied in one's youth,
but as a diet, when older, it's faux.

I can't grok the riddle-solution. SUITE? GAMED? I did get #4 without OMK's poem.

'Tis a toughie, Wilbur. You have the right letters. I guess it's among the top 5% of challenges.
A Like trying for a difficult chess mate.
A WAG would not be inappropriate, as both parts require guess work.

"Mork and Mindy"
Mindy lived on the fringe
of a town with a colorful tinge.
But Mork from Ork had an adage
which caused them a lot of baggage.
Mindy clearly loved her town dearly
but Mork found it earthy, merely.
This created a kind of hiatus
which made them both nearly "hate us."
Finally, to be less stressed
they became each other's guest.
Their visits were animated
and soon they dated.
Now, married, they're friends of the best
and they're happy and feel well blessed.
I'm a bit at a loss, Misty, because I never watched that TV show. So I am not sure how your poem adheres to its characters & plot line.
I know Robin Williams was the star and he used to say "Nano" a lot--right?
Is that the "adage," in whatever language was his mother tongue?
Did he and the earth girl Mindy both turn against other earthlings (nearly "hat[ing] us")?
I'm glad it all ended happily in marriage, either on the show itself or in the afterlife you've blessed them with!
Wilbur ~ Did you guess it yet? I estimate you have figured it out by now.

Ol' Man Keith, I am always impressed with how carefully you read my poem and the intriguing questions you then propose. Yes, I loved watching "Mork and Mindy" on TV, and Robin Williams, the guy from another planet, did indeed say "Nano, Nano," although I don't remember what it meant. And maybe that was also his "adage" (used only because it's a Jumble word today). Mork and Mindy's differences almost made them "hate each other," but that doesn't rhyme well with "hiatus," does it? So, as you always see, most of my ugly poetic grammar comes from Jumble's daily words which are always a beast to rhyme.
(P.S. I just looked up "Nanu, Nanu" and it's apparently an Orkan greeting similar to "Aloha." Thanks again for your fun comments to my verses-- I look forward to them every day).
How about "Guest-imate" except I'm missing a letter.
Misty you do manage to tell a story in rhyme. Lots of imagination in here.
I never actually finished Ivanhoe although once the final joust occurs it's all wrap-up. I'll try to rap it up if the right words appear.
I'm at a hiatus

Wilbur~ What letter are you missing? Could it be in the 2nd word?
What tense is required in your answer?

Yep. Never went back and checked my notes. Amazing how obvious looking at the answer.
Ol'Man Keith, just saw the adage in your poem, that "smoking does not let you grow." Brought back a depressing memory. I first went to a Catholic girl's college in Western Pennsylvania, and the girls had a recreation hour every day where we could smoke in the rec room if we wanted to. Well, sitting around smoking girls for an hour every day, I slowly got hooked and then became a heavy smoker for the next ten years until I stopped when I was 27. And guess what? I never grew taller than 5' 3"--never occurred to me that my smoking might have contributed to that. Grrrr.
Wilbur, thank you for your kind comment on my poem, and I really miss your verse. Am really looking forward to it tomorrow.
Glad to help.

I started smoking regularly at 16. First I sneaked Camels (unfiltered) from my mom's packs. I then discovered that nobody policed all the free standing cigarette machines. I took up Pall Malls for no reason than being a closet Anglophile. I don't believe tobacco really stunted one's growth, but I didn't grow any taller than 5'9"--well, maybe another half inch on a good day.
That was a reasonable height, a smidgen taller than my dad.
But then he smoked from age 12.

Oh, I quit twice.
First, when I was hypnotized to quit.
Then I resumed 20 years later when I met my present wife and she was a smoker.
Then about 5 years after we met, we both quit for good.
