Yes, I know he usually spelled it, “Pancho.”

Wearing my poncho, I leaf through the script

Ready now for the “rain scene”(the one we skipped),

I really don't think she had any reason to joke; they were kind of in the soup together, yes?
You know, I think it's almost worse when you have all but one Wordle letter, because then, with multiple possibilities for that last one, it just becomes random guessing!
So it took me til step 5, Coulda been 3, shoulda guessed that letter first, woulda, maybe.
It helps to cram the vowels into the opening levels.
I am a little surprised at the similarity between today’s Wordle & yesterday’s.

Another day to excel at the game. My husband gets a new lease on life when he is able to figure out the script. But at his expense, I have a hairy fit if he takes too long with the newspaper, and I can’t get started on my CW.

Yes, OMK, the vowel-rich word was my first one today also. I guessed the elfin spirit before the correct word today. Now I am off to get some gardening supplies. I may need my poncho as the sky is darkening.

that the project must excel
and make clever and insightful sense
at no additional expense.
This ended the office mess,
and the new project was a success.
"Wordle" on the streets is that this site is accepting posts for the game. Cool.

P.S. to all. My favorite starting word is STARE, whish is most often very helpful. Three of the most popular consonants and two of the most popular vowels; whether they're used or not used, that provides a lot of info or eliminates a lot of words.

It reminds me of my old boss, when I used to sell ladies’ shoes part time in college.
He knew I was studying theater, so he thought it immensely clever to try to motivate me to push the sale of all the little shoe “extras.”

Needless to say, he wasn’t as successful as your peace-loving guy.

I love hearing about your theater background, Ol' Man Keith, especially with your second verse this morning. Also enjoyed your Poncho comment. Fun beginning for our blog.
I had a long meeting with my bank accountant this morning. Hope I can get back into my account again, which shut down after I accidentally misspelled my password.
Moe, I hope this jumble blog is not primarily a poetry group. Yes, Owen always used to start off with a poem, but prose comments with hidden clues were the norm for the longest time. I personally wish that time was back, but that's just me.
A few of us thought to follow Owen's brilliant example by offering our Jumble hints in a poetic manner.
We never thought to exclude non-poets, but we fear that is what has kept this site's numbers low. People look in on us, see the verses, and think that is what they must do.
Not so.
Now we have what feels like an invasion of Wordle folk. I blame myself too for having succumbed to posting my own Wordle results.
I must stop doing this.
I really don't mind seeing Wordles posted, but this is a site for Jumble hints.
CanadianEH! understands this and adds her comments with Jumble hints included.
Chairman Moe wishes to blend in too, but unfortunately he picked up on the wrong message. It is understandable that he thinks he should write poetry, but what is really asked for is not more poetry, but to include Jumble answers.
Poetry, prose, or a combination is OK, but the real test is whether one contributes to the purpose of this blog by offering the day's Jumble words and/or solution embedded in one's post.
I hope my comments are not offensive to anyone, but I believe we should respect the purpose for which Owen constructed this site.*

Sandy ~ I agree it's tricky to get Wordle down to just one letter, but to excel at it, it is important to cease pursuing off-beat words.
For example, if you boil your script down to a choice among STARH and STARR or STARE, just guess which one it's gotta be.
Or between PONCH and PUNCH?
BTW, have you got an answer for my anagram yet?

Just as a personal comment, OMK, I think that Owen meant that IF you include jumble words,they should be veiled, but not that every comment MUST include jumble words. His guidelines include, "Hints are encouraged...". If I am mistaken, then I have misunderstood.

I make only cameo visits to Owen's Jumble Blog, so I'm not well-versed (pun not intended) on the protocol of the comments. I will sometimes stop by when I am unable to solve the Jumble, but that's a rarity
When I found out - at Crossword Corner - that this blog was doing Wordle posts, too, I thought I'd re-visit and post something about today's Wordle word. Thought I'd creatively put it into a limerick format.
Totally missed the boat with both the poem and absence of Jumble answers. Mea culpa
I don't think you missed any boats, Moe. Hints are "encouraged", but I really do not believe they are required, any more than poetry is required. Perhaps Owen will clarify his original intent.

ChmnM ~ Your presence is more than welcome. In truth, not every post includes the Jumble hints. Sometimes, none, sometimes just a few. But you understand that the point of the blog is to address the Jumble in some way or fashion, not especially to post poetry.
As far as embedding the J-words is concerned, I suppose our most common error is to include the words outright. Owen himself does that, but he also often masks them in sly ways—a different tense for a verb, or a gerund in place of a noun, that sort of thing. Sometimes I get a kick out of Spoonerisms, or even just rhymes of the real words.
Too often I forget myself. You can see today that I include the J-words whole in my first poetry.
BTW, the reference in your quoted instruction to the “opening poem” used to refer to Owen’s first piece. He no longer is a regular, and the first piece may be by me, or Sandy, or whoever gets here first.

My last sentence above suggests that whoever gets here first may not be posting Jumble hints at all. Or they may include some but not “all the words (or variations of them).”
IMHO, it would be nice of them to do them all, in respect of Owen’s wishes, but we should understand that it may not happen.

I respect Owen's efforts in creating this blog and especially in his maintaining it even when that is a hardship for him.
I honestly don't believe that a preoccupation with including every single jumble word or form of it in a comment, and especially a focus on doing it via poems carries any greater respect for Owen.
I enjoy solving jumbles. My comments are expressions of my reaction to a jumble and occasionally include a hint or two. I don't feel compelled to follow any formula. But as I have expressed before, that's just me. I think anybody should approach this blog in whatever way they feel like, providing they don't violate Owen's original guidelines.

P.S. On April 22, Owen explicitly invited Wordle solvers to post here. I love feeling free to talk about Wordle on ths site.
Sandy ~ I hope I haven't given you the impression that I object to anything you've posted. I don't believe anyone has shown a "preoccupation with including every single jumble word or form of it" when they post.
Yes, I have expressed a wish that we give attention to the Jumble as a main concern--over, say, poetry, or Wordle, even though I have posted on those myself. But we have no Jumble police.
I believe the only place I have called for voluntary coverage of "all the words (or variations...)" is in the first posting each day--so as to give life to Owen's posted instructions. Such inclusion would certainly be less confusing to newcomers who may be reading the instructions for the first time.
(If Owen no longer thinks this important, he may decide to re-write the instructions. We will certainly defer to him as the "Maestro," the creator of the site.)
