The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.
Comments are welcomed! And couching them in Poetry is definitely NOT required.
Do not explicitly reveal any of the actual answer words until after closing time, but embedding them surreptitiously in comment sentences is encouraged.

¡Viva el Cinco de Mayo!

A rhyming title today…
”Trick De Luxe”

The prankster crushed it
when our napkins & linens
proved to be sculpture.

Kinda like this one. The phrases are really different grammatically, but make sense both ways. And I chuckled as I got the solution.

I had no idea what an F-150 was, but the cartoon made it pretty clear.

Thursday crosswords are always tough for me, but this morning the Jumble also just didn't work. I came up with lines here and there but they just didn't produce a plausible narrative sequence.
Here's a sample of the mess:

"Teddy thought he had great luck
the day he bought his pick-up truck.

The girl on whom he had a crush,
bought him a napkin which made him blush.

But she also produced a nasty prank
when she poured olive oil in the tank
of his favorite pick-up truck
which made Teddy his romance chuck."

No place for the word "sculpt." And you have to admit, verses don't get any more stupid than this.

But then I came to the blog, and there is Ol' Man Keiths brilliant haiku, with the title and all the Jumble words, including "sculpt," worked right in. Thank you for that Thursday gift, OMK.

I can commiserate, Misty.
Each of the separate stanzas might be a gem if a narrative linked them, but it is hard to see how they might hang together.

You are too kind in your praise of my little haiku. This was one where I wanted to give more context--to include, for instance, something of the reaction of guests who discover such solidity in their table napkins!
But when I thought of adding any more pieces, they were all guilty of over-kill. Like you, I couldn't match length to story.

How about a Jumble post, Wilbur?
Maybe you can solve our mini-crisis.
Can you use all the J-words in a coherent verse. Hmmm?

My middle letter, WC, before that baseball scorer (down on the 4th level this time) was a “P.”
Does that mark me as an optimist?
