The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.

Do not explicitly reveal any of the actual answer words until after closing time, but embedding them surreptitiously in comment sentences is encouraged.

Yes, I write a poem for each piece, but then use the same poem for each variation. I think most people stick to the same ranges -- under 60 for the cell users, over 60 for larger screens. So I scale each variant to a different range.
Crossword or jigsaw, I'm a very slow solver, so don't emulate me, but I try to see which color is rarest, and start with that color.
Scenery or abstract, I look at color groupings to decide. All sepia I avoid.
Yes, there is a pause button

I missed the pause button, Owen. Ooops. I wrongly assumed it was automatic—like the Times XWD—so was disappointed when I returned to find nothing saved.
I shall look harder.

"Improvement"

The maid servant left in a huff,
she felt she had suffered enough.
The owners had gotten a hound from the pound
whose bark made a miserable sound.
The food did not at all suit,
consisting mainly of veggies and fruit.
They spent part of the time on a boat,
the maid with them as they went afloat.
Her dissatisfaction was high
as her leaving did verify.
But then she was offered a huge raise,
and given lots of praise.
So she's back, enjoying a whole new phase.

What’s the old joke, about leaving in a Huff?
A 6-cylinder, dual carburetor Huff?
(Who makes that model, BTW; isn’t that Korean?)

I am sure that is good advice, Misty, about how to keep a maid.
I never kept one, not for very long, but I’m pretty sure you’re right: money & praise should go a long way to keep one smiling.

Eureka!
I found the pause button, Owen.
I just hadn’t explored the options up in the corner.

This time, though, my mistake was in thinking it would remain on Pause while I left the program to do other things. When I came back—I.e., when I reaccessed the jigsaw—it didn’t remember how intimate we had been, only recently.
[Sigh…]. I will learn.

The hound tried to steal some fruit
Hanging from a branch over the pond.
But he forgot to verify that it would hold his weight.
The flock of ewes saw him afloat
But he left in a huff
Before they could rescue him.

CEh! ~ That hound!
I think he was miffed that nobody'd accept his word, that he was dependent on the ewes to be his witnesses.
Not that he stayed around to test his own credibility. Sheesh...

I, for one, would've taken his word.

So funny that both you of you decided to make your verses this morning about a hound eating some fruit. Hounds don't eat fruit, do they? At least both of your dogs stayed AFLOAT, Ol' Man Keith, and CanadianEh!. Delightful, and made me laugh.

I got today's Wordle this morning for the first time ever on my first try, thanks to your helpful hind, OMK. But for some weird reason I can's copy and transfer my Wordles here these days. Very frustrating

What kind of computer do you use, Misty? Mac or PC?
iMac desktop, or laptop? iPad or another tablet type, or phone?

AND what is the URL you use to access Wordle?

It worked, it worked! Turned out there was a Share box way at the bottom of the Wordle site, and when I clicked it, I got a message saying it was sent: and here it is. Woohoo! Woohoo! I'm back with Wordle!
