FLN, WC ~ Sorry I didn’t post (below) before your go at the Wordle.

Hint: It begins with F; includes 2 vowels side-by-side.

His or Hers Poetry?

The couple started to haggle
The issue?
Who would sleep on the floor
And who would get the sofa.

He fielded the question
And took the floor.
It was a win-win situation!

"Solution"

The couple did haggle more and more
about where to store things on the floor.
Quarreling over the issue
made her cry, and need a tissue.
But his solution in the end was cheaper,
when he suggested they buy a sleeper
they could use as a sofa in the day,
and this made all their worries go away.
To repay him some poetry she wrote,
which gave their love a whole new note.

Looks like the Jumble words put all three of us in the same direction this morning--Woohoo!
Great job all around, and, CanadianEh!, your solution was perfect, and even worked in one of the crossword clues!

An Extra Freebie

The axe-murderer kept two sofas.
He slept on one and wooed on t’other.
His nighttime bed served family too
for visits from his mother or brother.

He kept them apart, his victims and fam,
lest seduction style kick in with kin.
He usually followed flirts with a chop,
then dined on prey with a grin on his chin.

His meals were confined to the sofa creepier,
while family snoozed on the sofa sleepier.

Glad to be of help, Misty. I figured my colleagues deserve the same hints.
Your poem gives us a tidy ending, even if a bit surprising.
I mean, isn’t it unusual to see the joint purchase of furniture lead to peace & harmony?

CanadianEh! ~ Was your next to last word LIEGE? Maybe LIENS?
Your verse is both clever & fun!
It served as an inspiration for my “Freebie”—two sofas obviously being better than one.

OMK - believe it or not, my second last guess was Diets.
Thanks for the praise for my verse.
Your Freebie was macabre to say the least!

Yes Misty, we have similar themes. Understandable when you only have a few words to work with. But you do such lively rhyming!
You were eagle-eyed to see the CW clue that I incorporated (plus all the Jumble Words and Wordle). I was quite proud of myself today, if I may say so!

AH, Yes, CEh! ~ DIETS of course.
I could not think of a 5-letter _IE__ word beginning in "D."

Despite LIENS, I forgot the power of "S."
