The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.
Comments are welcomed! And couching them in Poetry is definitely NOT required.
Do not explicitly reveal any of the actual answer words until after closing time, but embedding them surreptitiously in comment sentences is encouraged.

FLN, WC ~ Looks like the super-fancy wedding was Aunt Nora’s idea in the first place.
Makes sense. Weddings are the special property of the ladies, aren’t they?

Is it slyly misogynistic to say so, or merely a statement of cultural fact?
Perhaps you mustn’t answer in your own voice, but in that of Nora?
Or of Lois?

Yet another birdie…

WC, a double bogey. Time you started taking a hint.
Why not?

Background for today’s haiku: Regarding the “intentional fallacy,” much tedious interpretive effort is avoided by keeping to strictly literal readings.
(Pronunciations [& syllable counts] are indicated for the 2nd line.)

”Something for the Critics”

I shrug off “intent”
when reading a po’m. Teed’yum’s
thus flung to the wind.

"Mike's Music"

Mike diligently searched for a medium
to alleviate his tedium.
His first intent was to invent
an appliance he could rent.
But he then came up with something:
a melody he could sing.
So he flung air into his lung
and a difficult tune he sung.
It sadly made everyone shrug
but his wife still gave him a hug.

Lucky Mike, Misty!
He seems to have a most loving wife, a forgiving one who can overcome his neighbor's shrugging discontent--presumably with his overly-difficult tune, but maybe also with the tense of the air he so casually flang (flinged?) into his singular lung.

On second thought, who knows the varied tenses of "to fling" (without looking it up!)?
Aargh...
Everyone should be forgiven who uses it, no?

Just came back in from outside. Had a short nap in garden shade.
Awakened by the sound of the air conditioner kicking in.

Ah, the rumble of the a/c,
the beating heart of a SoCal home...

Woohoo! Thanks to your very helpful hint, Ol' Man Keith, I got today's Wordle in just one try:

Wordle 405 1/6

🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

Many thanks for that help. Your haiku always amazes, and this morning, once again, all Jumble words and solution were there, with a little play on the word "tedium." Funny and clever, many thanks for that too.

Hope you're having a good day, CanadianEh! and Wilbur. And you too, Owen.

A birdie for you too, Ms. Misty!
Glad the hint could help.

I believe #406--a noun, a verb and an adjective--will be very difficult w/o hints.

Re. my haiku: Yep, I had to play with those two words in my 2nd line--
as "correct" pronunciations would have added two more syllables to my 7-syllable line.
Horrors!

The young student glared with intent.
The tedium of her day had upset her,
And with an angry shrug
She flung her mathematics homework
Into the garbage.

And that about summed up her whole day!

Misty- yes, I had a lovely, if busy day. Our weather has cooled after a rain last night and I was able to enjoy it. No AC here today OMK (and only a few days last week when it was very humid). Both DH and I prefer 75 to 78F in the house; plus we have trees and good air circulation. But of course, we have those cold winter days!

Misty- your Mike is a creative singer with his unusual lung. Too bad he was not better appreciated, but of course, his wife consoled him.
OMK- interesting haiku! Shrug off those critics and just enjoy the poem.

I may BOAST about my Wordle result,
But my ego would then need a RESET.
No need to make people UPSET!

Misty here's thurs,fri J's etc

[Chet has met with his sponsor, Neal]
(Neal says)
"Let me just affirm what you've said about this far, flung idea I've heard.
Your idea of the wedding was to take a day off work to meet your lovebird.
The clerk would invoke his power to wed and with a shrug and a kiss
You grab a medium rate motel for the night and begin a life of wedded bliss"

Your intentions were good as Pastor Ed often points out to his flock
Then something happened to upset these plans, someone talked
Lois's Aunt Nora was watching her niece and thought of a better idea
Called up uncle Charles and proceeded to whisper into his waiting ear

So glad you had a good day yesterday, CanadianEh!. But it looks like your student did not have a happy Jumble day at school--bless her heart. Hope she has a better one tomorrow. Oh, and great job on the Wordle!

And, oh dear, Wilbur--that wedding seemed to be so happily on the way, but now it looks as though family members are going to mess everything up. Still, neat the way you worked lots of yesterday's Jumbles in, as well as some of today's. I'll look more carefully later to see if I can find even more of them. Many thanks for this treat.

Saturdays J's

"Granted, you're simplifying things, Neal, but that's it in a nutshell"
"Chet, your tendency is to exaggerate as if in the death knell
And.. let's not find fault. Neither Nora nor Charles conspired
To leave you standing out with no say. This news as I see it is not dire

Plus, time is on your side. You have your studio, your work and the key?
A loving bride to work along side and a chance for Harmony

OMK, no offense but I like to solve the wordle.

Can you guess my starter? If so probably #2 also.

Granted I got lucky.

I'd say 4 is par solving the hard way.

Can't wait to see your hint

One final note. I solved Saturday xword. I'd rate it a typical Saturday solve albeit with more pop-cul than I'd like

It's nice to be able to solve on Friday with no pressure

And if Wilbur can FIR then it's doable. Having said that, wasn't Friday a PIP?
