If family feuds interfere.

"Helen's Help"
Helen had a hefty concern
which made her a lesson learn.
She tried harder to stop being a smoker
with help from an addiction broker.
In return she gave him her macaw as a pet,
in thanks that her smoking was no longer a threat.
And now she and her addiction breaker
have joined each other as helpful matchmaker.
Ol' Man Keith, your lassie thanks you for your very kind response yesterday.
And I hope dad got help with his smoking. I smoked for about ten years when I was in my twenties and then thought of a great way to stop. I switched to cigars, which I didn't like and annoyed other people, and that quickly cured my problem.
Wilbur, I loved Lois's sweet comments about her romance in your verse yesterday.
Yes, family feuds are a big problem, CanadianEh!--I agree.

You had Lois waxing poetic once more over the start of her romance with down-‘n-out Chet, rescuing him again to set him on track for their pending marriage. Then you leapt o’er centuries to revive the character of the Valkyrie, Brunhild, she of Eddic tradition, aye, that same brawny, bright warrior queen, fated to catch the eye of heroic Siegfried!
What a comparison that is, modern day Lois and timeless Brunhild! Two dames with a mission!
I never would have matched them on my own…
But your gift of poetry did not stop there. We were blessed with your paeans to the mighty Red Sox, the team from Bean Town that we should never underestimate. From game 5 through 7 we were treated to shifts of fortune and prowess!
And you did not stop there. A final treat mirrored an Aesop fable, complete with common-sensical moral! A mantra that failed, reminding us that words can be so misleading; reliance upon them can lead to doom in the jaws of a primitive critter.
Bravo, WC! You may have set a new record for both variety and themes, as well as for word count on a single day!

I don't get the surname references, but that must be my own ignorance.
I am sure you are correct, that feuds get in the way of "heaven-made matches."
But then, most things must get in their way right?
I mean, since the divorce rate is climbing over 50%: most marriages don't seem to flow from heaven these days...
Misty ~ Since your Helen had such success with her "addiction broker," she's ready to start a new phase of her life, working with that same broker to make matches!

She sure has faith.
I only wonder if together they seek out those marriages previously arranged in heaven

OMK- the feuds were historically between the McCoys and the Hatfields, but I needed a variation of Macaw. Voila- MCGraw!
Thanks for your kind words about my rhyme scheme. I am just happy to put together anything that rhymes! But WC says that I am getting better with practice.
I did like my title (if I do say so myself!). But you have to know the Wordle today to get it.
I wonder if Misty’s Helen and broker have problems with family feuds?
I suppose I would’ve just gone with McCaw (or MacCaw).
Or, even Hatfields & McCaws—almost a perfect sound-alike.
I don’t keep up with the Wordles, so that does put me at a disadvantage. I am old fashioned—and keep most poems purely J-words. Most.
