The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.

Eric the Bald was in a fine predicament.
To be given a quest had not been his intent!
But a crew of fearless youngsters volunteered,
An easy way to glory, their hearts cheered!
Off the Bald one went, captain of a longboat,
Cuddling the rudder for security and hope.
With the sail billowing, and the rowing crew,
The smoky pillar of their goal came into view.
Scared witless, Eric like a robot went ashore,
This was his omega, he soon would be no more.
Thru years as a raider, he had become an oldie
But by cowering, not because he was a goody.
(Will he find Loki? Tune in tomorrow!)
Cannot wait!
Eric is my kinda Vike. Maybe my 16th great grandpa. He's got true survivor instincts. And somebody had to stay safe in the bottom of the warship--for the raiders' procreation responsibilities.
Will he meet Loki face to face? Mano a Mano? What may ensue?

Delightful poem, Owen, and nice to see all of today's Jumble words in it. Only I had trouble with the solution--I think I do better with people than with letters.
Jack was shocked to find a fungus on his fancy golf club. He was particularly surprised to see such crud on the new composite surface he’d chosen to re-face a traditional wooden club.
There was no way to save it. He’d have to toss his moldy rubber woodie!

The jumble clues were not hard, but the solution had me stumped for awhile; I couldn't figure out what to do do with all those "d's". Then the V8 can smacked me on the head and I went "Of course!". Clever idea.
Your poem is an interesting continuation of the story, Owen. It must have been difficult to fit all those words into it. Looking forward to part 3.
