Walking towards "Mount Doom", Eric the Bald proceeded.
The pressure of his task as sweat upon him beaded.
To the smokey clouds, reflecting blood-red lava pools,
Where he saw a giant figure, basking as the lava cools.

Dressed in a furry coat, somewhat taller than a man,
Who could this be but Loki, feared across the land?
Eric approached him timidly, with what he had to bring.
"Norse postal service, with a message from our king."

Hardly noting Eric, Loki read the page he proffered,
Then gave a hearty laugh at what the king had authored!
"You, Eric the Bald, must be of hybrid bovine stock!
Your King has reports that you 'cow'er at any shock!

But since you dared to seek me out, at a live volcano
You proved that even if a coward, you aren't just a "plain ol' "
I'll write a message back to him, extolling of your boldness,
That will get you honor -- and a hundred quests, your Baldness!"

Your poem is a total delight this morning, Owen--many thanks. I needed to confirm the four Jumble answers, which your poem did, and hope for help with the solution--but I was distracted by the fun of the poem instead. In the end, I worked with all those letters I had, and TADA! there was the solution--obvious and funny--which cracked me up. Have never seen Dracula wearing a hospital gown and no shoes (noticed his clothes are on the back wall. And who is that green doctor? I should know, but can't remember. Anyway, a Halloween pleasure!

What has Eric got himself into?! He has survived the frightful encounter with the fabled Loki, only to "win" scores more challenges. We shall stay tuned for more adventures (easy for us in the secure comfort of the light of our various screens) as His Baldness quakes in his boots on the road to immortality.
Thank you, Owen, faithful chronicler.

A bovine commentary.
As Elsie the cow remarked to her good friend Bossie, upon coughing up a juicy wad from her 2nd stomach, "I have a cud fresher than yours!"

Misty, you may be thinking of Dr. Seward, John Seward, Lucy's suitor. Although not necessarily a friend to the Count, he is a good man who would not refuse treatment. I have no idea why he should be green. But it's a striking shade. He is without color in the newsprint version, as you know.

I guess you're more familiar with the Stoker account, OMK. I do recall Van Helsing and Vlad's remark: "For one who has lived a single lifetime, you are a wise man, Van Helsing" .

I had lots of trouble with #3.

Obviously Dr. Frankenstein. Look close you can see the metallic-colored bolt just below his ear. Tho it could have been Dr. Jekyll, or Dr. Moreau, or ... No quibbling over Frankenstein or Frankenstein's Monster.
