to basic letters. In the end, it’s a crime
to pass opportunities, like skipping fine wines.
Whether writing with feather, frond, or ball point,

Hmm, writing with a frond seems difficult

She still remembers when he wrote her a letter
that turned a rainy day into fair weather.
At other times he sent her flowers
whose fronds did lighten all those spring showers.
Her own gambit was to hire a band
and rhyme a song for him that she performed on the stand.
And so even in today's fierce rainy weather
they celebrate twenty-five great years together.
A happy marriage, Misty, celebrated in fine fashion.
It is uplifting & cheery, to read how such loving gifts can remove the clouds—and let the sun shine in.

I wouldn’t say today’s Wordle is so odd. I found that my hint (which I assume you’ve spotted by now) flowed rather easily into place.
“Frond” was much more difficult to handle, I agree!

Loved your "Ars poetica" verse this morning, Ol' Man Keith--lovely.
Have not yet gotten around to the Worlde.
We band together here to celebrate our rhymes, some simple, some showy.
Not the Queen’s Gambit, where the letter of the law is observed.
Our poems can grow from frond to fern, or simply stay unfettered.
My vowel-rich first word was useful to eliminate. Then I had a lucky guess for my second word.

I actually played the lead, Aubrey Piper, in my high school's production of George Kelly's The Show-Off.

Delightful verse, CanadianEh!, and brilliant Wordle solution OMK. I used up all five Wordle possibilities and never got the solution and didn't want to post my failure today.
