Background: Intensity is the chief trait of the new bulbs in the family room.
They have my wife demanding we dim them down—wa-ay down!
“They’re Far Too Warm; We Lost the Cool!”
Bright new lights spruce up
our den. Now my wife hollers,
“Don’t outdo my eyes!”

(Verses don't get any sillier than this:)
"Uncool Jewel"
It was rare for the wife to lose her cool
until the day she jumped into the pool
and realized she had lost her jewel.
This made her whine and holler
because the ringlet had cost quite a dollar.
She searched but found no clue
and there was nothing she could do
except her carelessness to rue.
Her husband hoped to help her plight
by taking her out to dinner that night,
hoping it might her sad spirits light.
She had no excuse to refuse
and worked hard herself to spruce.
In front of the mirror she sat on a stool
and found in front of her her precious jewel.
So she finally resolved her mess,
and the couple's evening was a great success.
Hardly silly, happens all the time.
Dear Misty,
OIC. She didn't search hard enough the first time.
I suppose swimming in the pool was not the wisest place to decide she's lost her "ringlet."
Silly her.
But it speaks well of the husband: His plan to take her out to dinner is what sends her to spruce up in front of her mirror and SEE the "missing" jewel.
Your poem has a jaunty bounce to it.
It was worth her ounce of a fit.
I guess
her short term distress
earned her a hubby to bless.

Thank you, thank you, for the kind comment, Wilbur. I'm so glad you checked in with us today. I miss CanadianEh! and Owen too.
And Woohoo! . Not only did you give us a sweet haiku, also about a couple, but you followed up my poem with both a neat analysis and a second verse from you. Woohoo!
